Mamono Hunter Yohko (Fan Art) (Patreon)

Lack of content is kind of hopefully ending soon. I have been working lately, I just don't have any finished inked pages yet. They are getting there, though. I'm still trying to get back into the groove of things after so long.

To help, I've been doodling and going through my old WIPs folder. I found this very old unfinished artwork of Yohko from the series Mamono Hunter Yohko (Devil Hunter Yohko) and decided to finish the line art, finish the colors, and give it a background. I would have done a few things differently if I was doing this from scratch but I decided to go ahead and leave a few mistakes with the lineart and such in, since this is really just a practice illustration to get me warmed up.

Yohko is from an old Japanese video game that looks like a lot of fun, but most English speaking fans know her from her OVA series from the early '90s. It was "porny Sailor Moon" I guess. This is a genre I really like, even if it's kinda schlocky, and I see it as something like a "dark magical girls" genre. There were a lot of series like this with transforming, mystical female leads that were obviously meant for male viewers back in the day, but this became very popular among early anime fans.

The rings of light are from the game. In the game she has a ring around her that she can use like a boomerang when she slashes her sword.

I hope you enjoy this! I will probably do a few more reworkings of files in my old WIP folder before I do more FaLLEN color artwork.  Released this publicly a bit earlier than usual because I've got cons and things coming up, but lineart will go up soon for people in those tiers.
