Today I got an order from my online store for a copy of FaLLEN. I always print out the orders I get and I did that without remembering that my scanner/printer was broken. Well, it printed just fine... which led me to wonder if there was a software issue instead of a hardware issue. But I'd downloaded and installed all the new drivers from the Epson website, I ran all kinds of tests... anyway, instead of going to look at scanners today at the electronics store I decided to see what I could do one last time. My software definitely won't acknowledge my scanner, but I was able to get my scanner to scan just by asking the scanner directly to scan. It's not as quick or effecient but it gets the job done.

I just scanned this page as a test, and sure enough... it works! I obviously haven't made any edits to this, it's just straight from my scanner, but I wanted to post it before going to bed (1:30 am here, way past my bedtime). Tomorrow I'm going to clean it up, add text, and scan the other page in the set as well. I'm still toning the other four pages I have, but I'm probably going to have them ready really soon.

I'm so happy I can scan again, but so frustrated with this software. But at least I don't have to drop $300 or more on a new scanner right away. Just wanted to share this with you guys before I crawl into bed. So yay!

Great to hear that your scanner decided to work with you again :-)

It's so cool to see the high resolution scans. I tried converting it to black and white just to see what you have to deal with... Noticed that the tones actually added some gray between the dots. Enough that it affected the result. @_@ I need to read up on these tones, they are cool but I just don't understand how they work.
