The Process

Inked version. (traced from the old black and white version)

Silhouettes! I do this to isolate characters for easier coloring. 

Flat colors!

Shadows!

Gradation for the colors, added highlights as well.

Added some details, some textures (forgot the hospital gown pattern, but that goes on in the next step), adjusted lines, added blush, etc.

Text!
