Hey all, the Promare video is finally here 🥳🥳 There's a *lot* of sources in this one, as there was plenty to pull apart from interviews, artbook scans and bts stuff the staff of Promare released. I adored this film when I saw it in the cinema, I remember being so buzzed when the credits came and wanting to rewatch it straight away.

The poll results were pretty 50/50 between this and Spider-verse, and funnily enough, I do talk about that film a bit in this video anyways haha, but I'll be sure to do a Spider-verse video this year for you guys - especially with the second film on the way!

I hope you all like this one, I'm really happy with how it all turned out! As always, the video will be released publicly tomorrow along with subs and the ads turned on (I managed to fix around the horrible copyright claims this video kept flagging, thankfully).

Let me know in the replies or Discord what you thought, and I'll update you all next week on which manga got officially picked in the poll for the next video - so far, Houseki no Kuni is winning!

Take care,

Dani

Why Promare looks AMAZING

Promare is by far one of my favourite anime films (along with Liz and the Blue Bird), so a video on this bombastically vivid film was bound to happen. In this video I did a lot of research into the how's, why's and when's towards the artistic choices in this film, and how they involve their other projects together continuously. Promare has its own unique aesthetic, and downright gorgeous! And was a topic I've wanted to discuss since the moment I left the cinema having watched it (and was totally blown away!) Thanks for waiting patiently on this video, appreciate you guys!!! 🔥 SUPPORT THE CHANNEL: https://www.patreon.com/linesinmotion 🔥 🍕 OTHER 🍕 TWITTER: https://twitter.com/linesinmotion TIKTOK: https://www.tiktok.com/@linesinmotionyt PAYPAL: paypal.me/linesinmotion SOURCES: ‍🚒 TIMESTAMPS ‍🚒 00:00 - 03:46 What makes Studio Trigger 03:46 - 05:28 Creating something different 05:29 - 09:47 How flames changed the visuals 09:48 - 12:54 Connecting the visuals 12:55 - 13:49 Outro

I might not like everything Trigger does, but I appreciate that they do so many original works and definitely go for it visually. Promare is absolutely a style powerhouse, the colors are and shapes are ridiculously identifiable. The only other work that immediately came to mind as having that kind of vivid color and stylistic rigor is Dead Leaves, and when I looked that one up I was honestly not surprised to find that Imaishi was in a lot of key roles. It is like they took FLCL and just turned everything up to 11.
