Sandy is adjusting to being a girl - but not to being a brunette!

This was a really fun "hand off" episode between Nikki and Sandy. I'm can't wait to explore more of this part of Sandy's story, as well.

Sometimes, it's hard to remember that Sandy is 23 whereas Nikki is only 20 - hopefully in the future she'll be more of a "big sister" to Nikki. She certainly seems to be leading the way in many things!

(even if she's still figuring herself out, too!)

Wow, Sandy looks fantastic. Amazing how much she could change her look with just extensions, a gentle wave, and a softer color. And that figure-hugging dress sure doesn't hurt. Big sister certainly is a hot sister. And despite what (s)he told Josh about her gender identity, Sandy is definitely winning the battle over Scott, confusing (and no doubt delighting) Josh.

I can't help but look and look again at the last couple of panels, Emory. Beyond just a new hairdo, you have given Sandy a pampered and confident look that befits a wealthy heiress. Despite stepping back from being a Sophia clone. Mrs. Ferris should be very pleased with the look you've given Sandy.

Thanks for the extra teaser update on Nikki. It was also nice to get an update and some insights into her changing psyche and internal challenges. psyche at the start of this episode. Sandy certainly is a lot further on her way to acceptance of who she is becoming. I had my doubts around her decision to change her hair colour but am blown away by how attractive she looks ( length and colour). It is understandably between a rock and a hard place (make that 2 boulders and a very hard place). I look forward to how this relationship shifts and their feelings for each other becomes more explicit. Thanks again for the beautiful images and thoughtful, and teasing ways you progress your protagonists stories.

My jaw literally dropped at panels 21 & 23. Sandy is so breathtaking. I totally understand Josh "bluescreening". But no way would I see her as "Scott".

Another terrific chapter, Emory. Nikki’s faltering attempts to keep the macho image going in her email exchanges with Sandy are fragmenting before our eyes, even to the extent that she’s confessing to feminine feelings and emotions as well as regrets. When she does finally see Sandy’s new look she will realise that she’s more alone than ever. And I’d forgotten the age difference between her and Sandy, and similarly with Jill, she’s just a kid by comparison. As for Sandy, whether she’s going to swing one way in Boston and another in Texas, there’s no doubt at all it will be in skirts. And she looks absolutely stunning. The new hair in terms of both colour and length makes such a difference. Let’s see how Josh responds rather than reacts.

OK just as I promised... But first I'll explain something from page 22 before I go through entire chain of thoughts showed in page 20... sooo... Josh has absolute right to feel BSOD'ed... why? Explanation is very simple, because he saw Sandy going into a place where people cut their hair... and she got out of there with longer hair... simply as that 🤭 Now going to explain the whole chain of thoughts Josh represented in page 20: IDK why... [my only guess is Emory didn't want the text to be too long] there are missing many "between the lines", lines... This is how I'm imagining original sketch of this block of text looked like just before trimming minutes before publication: "JESUS, HOW LONG DOES HAIR TAKE? I COULD'VE WATCHED THE DIRECTOR'S CUT OF SOMETHING BY NOW. I GUESS SCOTT PROBABLY LOOKED IN THE BIG MIRROR, CAME TO HIS SENSES, AND DECIDED TO CUT IT ALL OFF. [OMG PLEASE HELP GOD I HOPE THIS IS NOT TRUE... SHE LOOKS AND ACTS TOO FEMININE ALREADY TO BE A MAN AGAIN RIGHT???] THAT'S THE END GAME, RIGHT? GO BACK TO BEING A GUY? Good transitional chapter Emory, and good Nikki cliffhanger, we will see how (s)he gets out of the mess with the deputy.... I think (s)he's going to play the bimbo card. As for Sandy, wow! what a makeover! (s)he looks really, really good with her extensions and new color.

For Nikki there is simple solution - call a deputy to the base on the pretext of, for example, an accident on the highway "to all units, a big accident abort the interventions and return to base , waiting for further instructions." As for Sandy wow what a stunning transformation, can this new look💖 of Sandy be on April Schedule? i also look face expression of Josh, he was waiting for Scott with maybe shorter hair, and he got Sandy with longer hair and a new color. Looks like the surprise was a success, Emory, you're awesome❣️

Thank you, CK and Wojtek. Poor Nikki has had a rough night / day already. She needs a nap, not to deal with a deputy! I'm really glad you're enjoying Sandy's makeover. She has obviously decided to use this trip to Boston to assert herself - and it seems to be working. It's confusing the heck out of Josh, though, who is still trying to wrap his head around it all. And, yes, Sandy will be our April pinup girl. 😊

LOL, she does look great! I'm happy for her. The salon she went to must have been VERY expensive - the extensions alone (probably the "fusion" kind, which should last for up to 6 months) would've cost a couple hundred dollars. Then with that awesome dye job? Phew! 💸 Yeah, Nikki is far behind. In terms of "girl school," Nikki is like a freshman and Sandy is Junior. 😂

Really excellent observation, Tim! With the revelations from Mrs. Ferris, their burgeoning relationship is turning from antagonistic to something greater. And with this new freedom, she's really able to explore who she wants to become. She's starting to figure it out - and it shows!

Absolutely, Gemma. Sandy's journey is as much about her external transformation as it is her internal one. The shift in her appearance is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the changes she's undergoing. Poor Josh is caught in the whirlwind of it all, trying to navigate his feelings for Sandy (Scott?) knowing that she was forced into being a girl, but now seems to be embracing it in ways he didn't expect and can't understand. I'd say their dynamic is evolving with every interaction, and it's clear that they're both on the cusp of something new and undefined.

Josh bluescreened at Sandy's new look - Nikki will probably need a moment to reboot entirely when she sees her. She will be utterly unable to comprehend having the freedom to masculinize her appearance and CHOOSING not to. Like, what? Sandy is NOT good with money, so she could definitely use the help. She's used to having to fight for every cent, steal, or scrounge up what she can. Now that she has access to a fortune, she's like a kid in a candy store with no idea of the concept of a budget. Should be fun. Or a disaster. Or maybe a fun disaster.

😂 Maggie, what a great dive into Josh's psyche! LOL, I honestly think you've captured Josh's internal conflict perfectly. He's completely torn between what he wants and what he thinks is right for Scott / Sandy. He's confused, emotionally compromised, and it's only going to get more complex from here. The longer Sandy embraces her new identity, the harder it's going to be for Josh to separate his feelings for Sandy from his loyalty to Scott. He's trying to be a rock in the chaos, but even rocks erode over time.

Absolutely, Robert! Yeah, Nikki's struggle is I think becoming more apparent with each episode. And the contrast between her and Sandy is growing starker. Personally, I think it'll be fascinating to see how this affects their dynamic once they're both back in Texas. Sandy's transformation is kind of symbolic of her taking control of her life and identity in ways that Nikki hasn't yet managed to even THINK about yet. As for Josh, he's on the brink of a major personal revelation. His reactions to Sandy's changes have been telling. He wants to be supportive! But he just doesn't understand. The real test will be how he responds when confronted with the reality of Sandy's new self-assurance and direction. I think of it as a pivotal moment that could redefine their relationship entirely.
