Sandy and Josh eat dinner...and then enjoy their dessert. 😊

We have 24 pages for Episode 50 of Half Sisters! Yay! 🍾 And it's certainly an important one for Sandy and Josh.

I really enjoy writing these two together and their complicated (and yet kind of simple) relationship. I can't wait to read your comments!

Sweet! I'm about to go to bed and I know what I'll be dreaming about tonight. I love these two.

Jenny Amara

It's lovely to see a plan come to fruition 🥰. These characters have been through so much. I’m definitely rooting for them. So, two more days' worth of snogging and more seems like an appropriate kick-off to the next phase of their lives. Cheers to you, Emory, for another beautiful chapter in the narrative tapestry you are weaving.

Well, wow. That was hot, sweet and sexy. Yes, Sandy did set about seducing Josh, and sex was very much the goal, but there are much deeper emotions at play, and as she says herself, it’s not about obligation or gratitude. The L word could be in play very soon here. Some lovely and telling art too, Emory, with the lingering hands and shared glances, Josh’s intensity and their mutual adoration. Meanwhile, in Texas, any lingering hopes that Nikki might have had about her “bro” will have been well and truly extinguished after reading this missive from Sandy. And it’s definitely Sandy; Scott has gone for good.

Gemma

A Wow also from me. Sandy has certainly embraced her femininity. I kept waiting to see some sort of curve ball but no, she loves being Josh’s girl. As usual your art work Emory is amazing and Sandy looks so pretty and sexy.

Jade Diaz

I'm so happy how confident Sandy feels in her own skin. She's giving Josh full permission to be ass-over-teakettle in love and lust with her. He's not wasting any time with it. They're such a sexy couple!!

Bill Johnson

Please protect these two they’re so sweet

Bobbie

I love these two, their affection for each other is palpable. I can't wait until Sandy is fully a girl and we see the same perspective as Josh mounts her. 😍

Maggie Heels

OMG, OMG, OMFG this is sooo hot ❣️❣️❣️ but first things first... Was it just for me Emory??? #high.heels.stay.on ? 😍🥰 I love how romantic this episode turned out... and Josh OMG... bold move... I think it is rather unusual for men to worship their special girlfriends "completely" if you know what I mean... AWESOME COUPLE ❣️❣️❣️

Omagathief

I’m just curious if Sandy will go all the way and have SRS or will she remain halfway between 🤔

Thomas Tolliver

An important choice and not altogether easy to make.

Tim

Judging from Josh's eagerness to pick up from where they left off when Mortimer rudely interrupted them, Josh seems to like Sandy just as she is. If he has any say in the matter (and I'm sure Sandy would definitely value his opinion), he'd likely vote against any more changes to his dream girl.

Finally something sexual is happening

Uhm, I wonder how Nikki settled things up with that traffic cop? Texas is known for its "stiff" penalties and "hard" justice... Yes, I know how corny I am being...

This issue is yet another remarkable example of of Emory's ever increasing ability to make her graphics and writing mesh perfectly, one flawlessly complementing the other. Twenty four pages from Emory are equivalent to hundreds from most of her contemporaries. Observe carefully what she did with the wine glasses from pages #3-8! That's what an extreme commitment to detail looks like! The "Flintstone-esque" turkey leg on page #4 would normally be a comedic prop, but is instead a sensuous detail due to Sandy's dialog from the prior page. Once again, the backgrounds are a major contributor to the tale. Vintage wallpaper, beat-up kitchen cabinets, archaic refrigerator, wooden floor boards that have seen better days, the neolithic TV(rabbit ears!), the non-gigantic mattress, tell me a tender love story. Sandy knows that Josh is intimidated by her beauty and unsure about the "rightness" of his new, romantic feelings for his best friend turned temptress. She brilliantly addressed the situation. Sandy could have rented a honeymoon suite at a five-star hotel as the backdrop for her plans to seduce Josh, but knew better. She had to put him at ease. Why did she put so much thought and effort into this undertaking? BECAUSE SHE TRULY LOVES HER BEST FRIEND!

Tim

#high.heels.stay.on = #hot.as.hell !

Very nice update. Almost seems like Sandy's story is coming to a head. She's now a wealthy heiress, comfortable as and accepting of her new self, and has a man she loves and who loves her. Nikki has much to her story left, but where does Sandy go from here? She'll surely want to meet up with her "sister" again, but after that? Who knows? Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Emory Ahlberg

Aw, thank you, Tim. I'm more than a little in love with them myself - as you can probably tell! 😊

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Jenny! I'm so happy you're enjoying the wild ride. From lockpicks to lipstick, Sandy sure has changed. And yes, they've earned their marathon of snogging, plus a little extra credit for all the drama they've endured. Hopefully without any running from musket-wielding maniacs. 😂

Emory Ahlberg

Thanks for the kind words, Robert! Sandy's seduction (although she IS still kinda bad at it lol) is because of her genuine connection to him. As for Nikki, well, let's just say she's in for quite a read! Sandy's transformation is more than skin-deep now... Nikki no doubt can't help but wonder if she'll be going down the same path!

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Gemma! Sandy's journey has been crazy, if you think about it... burglar to reluctant maid to coed to heiress. And yes, she does love being Josh's girl. His acceptance and joy at her new body really helped her come to terms with it... And thank you for praising the art. I'm really pleased with how pretty sexy looks here, too. 😊

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Jade! Sandy's confidence is shining through for you. She's definitely come a long way from the days of skulking around in oversized hoodies. And Josh is definitely ass-over-teakettle for her... especially now that Sandy was able to give him some much-needed "clarity" 😉

Emory Ahlberg

💕 Thank you, Bill! I'm really having fun with this romantic interlude. Sandy's hair color / style change certainly seems to have upped her confidence.

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Bobbie. It's so fun to write them. Josh is a good egg... no not THAT kind of egg. 😉

Emory Ahlberg

Yay! Thank you, Maggie! To answer your burning question: Yes, it was just for you. I had a premonition that you'd be reading, so I made sure to sprinkle in that extra dash of spice. 😉 The romance is fun,t oo. Josh is stepping up his game because, let's face it, Sandy's worth it -- and he has always been a bit of an overachiever. 😂

Emory Ahlberg

Josh certainly likes Sandy the way she is, and he's also support whatever decision she made. Sandy could certainly afford it now - but she will want to focus on getting comfortable with being Sandy in the "real world" before any choice about that. There's still a lot to learn about being a girl when it isn't just her and Josh!

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you so much, Thomas. 💖 It was a lot of fun to write and create the art - especially after the relatively heavy Jack & Jill episodes.

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you so much, Fin! I love that you've noticed the little details I obsess over, like the wine glasses. The devil's in the details! You nailed it with the backgrounds too. I wanted the setting to feel lived-in and real, like a place with history and character. Is it romantic? That depends on your definition. She could've gone for opulence, but Sandy chose it because it reminded her of her past as Scott with Josh - and the future she wants to have with him as Sandy. Sandy's efforts with Josh are more about inviting him to join her in her feelings - and giving him permission to feel attracted to her DESPITE the fact that she (initially) didn't choose this destiny. But she certainly is choosing it now!

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Richard! I'm really happy you enjoyed this episode. Where does Sandy go from here? Well, she still needs to get used to being a woman when she's "out in the world" and not just with Josh. And college as a girl will have lots of experiences. ALSO... being a wealthy heiress isn't all champagne and caviar. 😉 And you're right, Nikki's story is far from over. They may be "Half Sisters" but Sandy is still the older sister by about 3 years so maybe she can help guide Nikki!

Jade Diaz

Is that what we’re calling it now?

2026-09-14 23:00 You know Josh is a real gentleman cause he didn't peak up Sandy's dress while she was standing on his shoulders. I have a feeling if the roles were reversed Sandy would take full advantage of the view, considering how absolutely feral she appears to be for Josh lol

I can't really get into Sandy and her change/struggle. It's well-written, don't get me wrong, but between the transition-angst and scenario, I find Nikki a more sympathetic character. She's got a 'tragic heroine' feeling. Sandy is adapting a bit too well to have that same feeling. (It's also why I can easily relate to Chris in Homecoming.)

Emory Ahlberg

Oh, you're absolutely right, Jen! 😂 I love the mix of friendship and lust these two have for each other... Which of course is the perfect recipe for it blossoming into more!

Emory Ahlberg

That's okay, Elrod! I do want them to feel like they're in different situations with different levels of trauma. Sandy's change was more gradual - and she wasn't kidnapped and brought to a remote island where she was subjected to Mr Davis! Also their natural temperaments have made their responses to the changes very different. 😊

Elrod W

As I noted, the story is very well written and very well-illustrated. And yes, you do well showing the differing circumstances between the two. It's human nature that two people who are ostensibly in the same situation really have differing causes and reactions. I liked particularly how Sandy at one point told Nikki off a little bit. While some think that Sandy's story is nearly complete, I have to respectfully disagree. There are too many unresolved plot points. Mrs. Ferris' husband, with whom she wants to speak. Davis is hanging out there as a potential fly in the ointment, to bring new complexity or trauma to Mrs. Ferris and/or Sandy. And Josh - what if Davis 'visits' and decides that Josh needs "the treatment" as well, thus screwing up what's happy situation for Sandy? As is very much 'situation normal' with an Emory Ahlberg story, there are hidden agendas, plot twists, and fresh angst aplenty in store for the readers. And I couldn't be happier. (I wish I had enough time and talent to do what seems so effortless for Emory - I have stories in mind that I think would make good graphic stories. Alas, time is lacking. Maybe I need to retire so I have time to write?) (For those of you who might not know my background, I've written many stories, and have been accused of over-torturing my angsty characters, including someone making up an "Angst-o-meter" which I often peg at 11. I wonder what the meter would read for Nikki? Twelve? Thirteen? 😂)

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Elrod, I can always count on you to dig into the psychology of the characters! I'm very happy you liked Sandy dressing Nikki down a bit - she deserved it at the coffee shop. Sadly, that was the last time they saw each other in real life. I hope their eventual reunion is a happy one! I also believe Sandy's story is far from over. Learning to live as Sandy with Josh is one thing, but the outside world is very different. I'm glad I make it look effortless! I'm actually perpetually panicking that I'm going to screw it up! 😂 And, as you know, I absolutely adore your stories - as challenging as they may be for the characters!

sketchyqueen

sandy is always interesting to me because it feels like if a trans person got forcibly transitioned had to deal with the trauma of that and dealing with why they may fit better into their current gender. like she can’t find the words but understands it even tho the traumas there

Kris Greg

I enjoy when you're able to put romantic interludes into your stories. I don't care about the gender make-ups of those times because you almost always make them so sweet.

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Nina! Sandy is such an interesting character to me for exactly that reason. Obviously she has some trauma over the transition - but mostly she seemed really upset about being lied to and manipulated. The end result she definitely is enjoying quite a bit! How much of that is because she’s got Josh? I suppose that’s part of the equation, too - but she absolutely likes being a girl better than a boy!

KenCom

Josh is going to rock her world
