Emily comes face to face with the sister she never had...

Part 7 and 8 is a combined total of 40 pages! And we learn more about Second Dawn... The board is set, and the pieces are moving. 😊

I'm looking forward to your comments / thoughts!

EDIT: Had to fix some dialogue between Jill and Josie because I totally spaced on remember that Josie was still at the hotel with Connor!

Not a lot of advancement towards the end of the story across 2 chapters but definitely 2 chapters worth having 👍🏻. Glad to see that Jill’s sister didn’t break character in front of her.

Emory Ahlberg

Thanks, Omaga! Yeah, for these chapters my thought was to "pull back" a bit and see Clinic 12 / the island from the eyes of a total outsider... Emily... So we can get an idea of the scale and scope of what they're fighting against, and what Jack / Jill has had to endure all this time!

Maggie Heels

This is insanely brilliant... at any level... renders, writing, everything... ❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️

Emily tried to reach her former brother/sister's hand, but realizes that Jack is too far gone to save him mentally. Jill saying "Too Little, too Late" when seeing her keep hands down from her. Emily, horrified, can really tell by Jill's eyes that she fully a member of Xu's membership. I know Jill has a plan thinking of trying to save everyone, but the more she tries to "save" the remaining members the more she is losing herself. Mason's hormones didn't just alter Jack/Jill 's body, but her mind, too. Xu capitalized on Jill's empathy very well based on the formal men to making her almost his subordinate since the previous chapters. Emily seeing Member Jill than her brother really is hard for her especially four years. I wonder how Mason is going to react see this version of Jill. What happen to Conner after Jill's visit?

Alice

Am I being stupid when I say this but wouldn’t Jill recognise josie from the hotel room when she was there with Connor and Davies. Jill would have known that she had the surgery. Am I over looking something? Ps another great addition to the story x

Ella Cherry

The chapters are fantastic! But I’ll just repeat myself: I love Josie! ❤️

Pelicanboss

Part 7 page 15: That ain't Jack your brother anymore, that is a goddess, a gorgeous woman, beauty itself in human form. That is your sister now.

Emory Ahlberg

Aaah, no! You're right! Sometimes keeping track of everything is hard in a story this size, lol. I'll adjust the dialogue. Great catch!

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Ella! Me too. She's a beautiful badass.

Thomas Tolliver

Was worried I missed a part in there, but then we got the 44 hours earlier. Definitely an interesting way to keep us hooked!

So much drama and suspense! Great work! Have we seen the girl in the white bikini before?

Tim

The girl in the white bikini looks strikingly similar to Maria, seen standing next to Olivia in Phase 9, Part 2, Panel 9 while greeting guests on the dock in their blue bikinis. However, Olivia introduces her as a "white" bikini... a new trainee who is as yet unnamed. Perhaps the girl in white is Maria's less experienced and still virginal twin bro... err, sister?

Gemma

I agree with others. So much action and drama. Had to catch my own breath after reading these chapter. Like the brief romantic exchange between Josie and Emily. I also wonder what has happened to Connor. Also given Emily’s kissing Josie maybe she might still be open to connecting with Connor in his new form?

Robertlouis

Wow! Considering that there isn’t an actual chase going on, there’s still an almost palpable tension in this sequence of renders. Great pacing - the use of the lighting and the running boots in the first few panels sets up the percussive rhythm for the remainder. Brilliantly done, Emory. And given the potential for confusion you’ve given us clarity by keeping the number of characters down to four until very near the end. I hope that Emily’s misreading of Jill’s new psychology isn’t going to compromise the rescue attempts later - Jill is infinitely more determined and much stronger than Emily assumes. And it sounds, via Josie, that Conner has already left the island. Incidentally, Josie is seriously voluptuous, but has such a pretty face. And Jill becomes more beautiful every time we see her. So, who shot Xu? I have my own theory, and I picked up another clue from this chapter. All will be revealed in good time. (Laughs maniacally)

Robertlouis

I think the soundtrack for the movie should be like one of Hans Zimmer’s masterpieces that are intrinsic to a Christopher Nolan film like Oppenheimer or Dunkirk, where the percussion plays the main role. No songs, just sounds.

DutchessJessica

Does anyone know when the previous chapters with Josie are?

Tim

Joey/Josie has appeared in the following episodes, Your Grace: - Phase 3, Parts 1, 3 & 6 (all as Joey) - Phase 5, Parts 7, 8, 15, 17 & 18 - Phase 7, Parts 1, 20, 21 & 28 - Phase 8, Parts 10, 12, 13, 21 & 23 - Phase 9, Parts 1, 2, 6, 7 & 8 You might want to check out Emory's Google sheet. That contains all kinds of information on just about everything she's published in her Patreon pages, including the episodes in which all characters have appeared (Josie's appearances are marked with an X in the third "gurls" column under the "Xu-niverse" tab). The link to the spreadsheet is at the top of her Table of Contents page: https://www.patreon.com/posts/table-of-92501673

Mike

Josie kicks ass!!!! With her character having a military background, and after popping those bad guys, a sexy kung fu kick with long heels, if you think about it, is another dangerous weapon for an action hero.

Gemma

Thanks to Dutchess’s request and Tim’s guidance I also did a deep dive into revisiting Joe/Josie’s journey. Josie’s story of change is great to reread with continunity provided by Tim. Wow! It was so interesting to look again in more insight into the different themes and the various parallel, overlapping story lines you have created Emory. I picked up new insights from what at the time were vague comments and murmurings. For instance, the over heard end of a conversation between Dr Dawson and Mr Xu in Phase 7 and the subtle revelation of a clandestine planned ‘specialist transplant surgery’ to be conducted post the ‘coming out supper.’ All of a sudden the ‘penny has dropped’ around Jill’s disappearance. Such great depth and story telling Emory. I look forward to the next chapter in this masterpiece.

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you so much, Tim! That's so helpful. 😊 Poor Josie has been through A LOT!

stacy C

It's hard to concentrate on the words when Josie's lovely bootie is on the same page hehe x

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you very much, Maggie! ❤️❤️❤️ "Everything" is a lot! Hehe.

Emory Ahlberg

It requires extraordinary willpower, Stacy! LOL

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Gemma! I love weaving in little breadcrumbs that might seem insignificant at first but later take on deeper meaning. There are a few more hidden clues sprinkled throughout that will come into play soon. 😊

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Tiki! I've been exploring how Jill's empathy has become both her greatest strength and her biggest vulnerability. I don't see it as a simple case of brainwashing. It's more like her core traits have been amplified and redirected. Her desire to help others now manifests in ways that align with Second Dawn's goals, even as she believes she's resisting them. She's in a tough spot!

Emory Ahlberg

Thanks, Pelican! I bet Emily's thinking, "Damn, my brother makes a better woman than I do!" Poor Em, she's gonna need therapy after this. Maybe we should start a GoFundMe for her counseling sessions? 😉

Emory Ahlberg

Thanks, Thomas! Yeah, I love playing with time in storytelling! I wanted to create a sense of urgency and impending doom right from the start. By showing that climactic moment with Xu and Jill, then rewinding, we get to see how all the pieces fall into place. Hopefully, it's like a puzzle where you know the final image but have to figure out how it all comes together. 😊

Emory Ahlberg

We got to know a bit more in the next episode! I'm considering of doing a "Second Dawn Files" transition story for her.

Emory Ahlberg

I'm glad you're enjoying the intensity, Gemma! Emily's conflicted about Connor, especially after he was "with" Josie in the hotel room - and the revelation that he cheated on her as part of his "spy duties." While Emily wants to try to rescue him, she doesn't see a future with him romantically.

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Robert! Yep...even family can misunderstand someone's growth and resilience. As for Connor, his fate is still up in the air - Josie might not have all the information...or she may not be telling the truth! I'm glad you're a fan of Josie's curves - she could actually give Jill a run for her money in the contest! 😉 I'm so curious who your theory is!

Emory Ahlberg

Oh, I love the idea of a Hans Zimmer-style soundtrack! I've always imagined the music for Jack & Jill as being more atmospheric than melodic. And it'd be fun to have the music subtly shift throughout the story, mirroring Jack's transformation into Jill. Maybe starting with more masculine, aggressive tones and gradually becoming softer. 😊

Emory Ahlberg

Yes! I've always seen Josie as this coiled spring of repressed anger and military training. And her heels are definitely a twist on the typical action hero gear. Just give them blades! LOL

Gemma

Ohh, poor Connor
