Kris continues to reveal what happened during the mysterious six weeks between her release from Bella's and her arrest, including a fateful encounter that changed everything.

An extra-long episode! This one took a lot more effort and energy than I expected, but I'm really pleased with the results. 😊 I hope you like it and can't wait to read your thoughts!

Oh yeah this owns

To start- just seeing first couple of images, her hair looks so beautiful. Image 3 mwah 💋. I also hadn’t realised that they had also performed throat surgery to give her a female voice. Wow! Just read your magnificent dialogue and depth of understanding of as you reveal the psychological birth of Kris. Very emotional, very real, so beautifully explained. So well explained to Ben hopefully enabling him to embrace and accept who she is now as Kris. P.S. Please excuse my constant editing and adding to my feedback, I just impatiently needed to write on the differing levels of impressions I drew as I read each element of this touching beautiful episode. On an aesthetic level in relation to feminine beauty, your images of Kris are so beautiful and natural. Your art work is so realistic it just blows me away. Thanks Emory for all the care, effort and time you out into this episode.

Worth the wait! Another great episode. Loved all the background and character development.

Maggie Heels

Geeeeeezz OMFG... what an emotional load... that chapter is heavy AF... ❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️ and the question is how much Ben will be a dick now? enough to earn an injection? If yes... poor Kayla... I wonder if Kris and Kayla will become friends in the future... is it possible?

Jade Diaz

Are you specializing in the most incredible and beautiful sunset shots now? Is that your calling card? Just, wow, Em!

Crystal Peaches

Heart wrenching stuff. The art is next level and the inner turmoil, the search for her true self and the conflict that that brings; superlative.xx

Kris Greg

This story has come a long way from its beginning. It's deep.

I love all your work truly love it but this story is tge best thing you’ve ever done by far. I cannot wait for the next installment

I can't get enough of that picture of Kris putting on her lipstick (image 3-601). I don't know that any of your other creations can surpass the beauty I see in this picture. Kris is absolutely gorgeous!

Now I really can't figure out if Cindy was being intentionally deceptive about Kris' identity, or if she knew about some of this and actually had valid reasons for being pissed at Ben (unknowingly) misgendering her. And I was wondering this whole time if Kris was short for something! Still intrigued about the whole Chris/Kris situation and if they're really as separate and distinct as Kris insists...

O.K., now that I have re-read the entire series up to this latest episode I do have a few questions. The writing and art work are amazing. The story is compelling. But here are a few things I am not processing. Bella seems to be an unapologetic misandrist. She makes no secret of her disdain for men as inferiors. Her sadomasochism seems centered around humiliating men and "putting them in their place", or possible actually transforming the very few who pass her tests into physical women to reflect the female heart and character they possess inside such as Kris. She seems committed to complete transformation. Of all the procedures the vaginoplasty earned a prisoner 5,000 points, enough to earn their freedom. So when granting Kris her freedom Bella conducted VFS on Kris so her voice would sound more feminine. This was implied that it was done so Kris' presented gender would be more readily accepted in public. Cindy under vaginoplasty before she departed. I would think if Bella was wanting to send Kris out into the world as the woman she had become, and leave no vestige of Kris' former male self, that she would have done both the vaginoplasty and the VFS That way there would be almost nothing male left about Kris and also reduce the likelihood of her attempting to return to her old life, at least a male. Vaginoplasty is considered a permanent and none reversible procedure. Plus, if Bella intended these changes done to Kris as a gift to bring out her real self, one would think Bella would also want to gift Kris the ability to experience a female orgasm. Related to this question is another related to Kris' comment in the diner about being able to reverse the procedures but "choosing" not to. While yes, perhaps some of the procedures can be reversed to some degree such as stopping hormones, BRS, taking testosterone, etc.., others like the electrolysis and castration cannot be. Plus things like her facial surgery may technically be reversible, in that they make be able to insert implants to restore some male facial features, it is unlikely they can restore Chris' face fully to the way it use to look before he was kidnapped. So over all there may be far less of a choice to me made here. Kris will never be able to look like Chris again, even if restoring some degree of male appearance may be possible. That would require numerous expensive painful surgeries with long recoveries that would still leave him hairless, balless, sterile and still sounding female because of the VFS. He would not look or sound like himself and most likely look like a less convincing and still somewhat effeminate looking and sounding transgender male. Because of this Chris/Kris would likely need to develop yet another persona to better align with his/her new "male" appearance. That would likely mean a lot of pyshco therapy to deal with now three different personalities. Given the cost and risks of the surgeries along with the significantly less than full restoration best outcome, I think even Ben and Kayla would understand a reluctance by Kris to put herself through all that again for an outcome that would fall far short of full restoration to Chris' old appearance and persona. At least in Kris' current appearance she is almost indistinguishable from a biological female. So less reason for society to shun or reject her on appearance alone. But too many more surgeries and she would likely look like a candidate for the "Botched" reality TV show. Still it was a great speech in the diner to Ben, and that may truly be how Kris feels. As we see with Ben there is some cognitive dissonance in hearing, understanding and processing what Kris is saying, that she has made an affirmative choice. But putting it in terms of health, risk, cost, time and far less than optimal and desired results for all the risk, time and cost, and that some changes are irreversible, may be a more affective way to walk Ben and Kayla back from their expectation of full reversal and returning to exactly how Chris and things were before he disappeared. And I know you know where stand on this, but if I was Chris/Kris and looking at the reality of living the rest of my life as Kris either by choice or the irreversibly of much of what was done to me, I think I would be looking at voluntary vaginoplasty to just bring it all to its ultimate conclusion and fully embrace and lean into my new reality.

Crewchick

Another thing I am curious about if that Chis' obituary described him as a fiancé, son and brother. But we still know nothing about Chris' parents and sibling(s). While Kris might want her relationship with Al over Chris' relationship with Kayla (plus Kayla conveniently has Ben), wouldn't she still want some relationship with her parents and brothers and sisters, even as she now presents? At least for me that is a missing calculus in Kris' "it's my choice" speech. Not is living as Kris, but seeking to live as Kris completely decoupled from all that was Chris including friends and family. Even if Kris is trying to protect them from any type of reprisal from Bella and "the C" They are never even mentioned once by Kris.

The emotional depth and complexity of this episode are simply astonishing, as are the stages of self realisation and awareness that Kris goes through after she wakes up in the apartment. At the same time Ben’s refusal to confront or to listen to what she’s telling him must be incredibly frustrating, and her patience does her great credit. He’s so convinced that his friend has been changed against his will and that somehow returning him to who he was will fix everything, when surely it’s clear that it’s in everyone’s interest in the little triangle of Layla, Kris and Ben, if things are allowed to remain as they are. While there’s still no accounting for what steps Bella or the Cunt might take, there are the first glimmers of a happy ending at long last, although I’m sure there will be many more twists, turns and heartaches along the way. Some wonderful art yet again, especially Kris’s facial expressions, and the dramatic cityscapes. Your use of shadow and light throughout Homecoming has lent the entire story the Film Noir vibe that it fully merits, Emory. It’s an artistic masterstroke. Finally, a personal favour, if I may. Could you give Kris a longer wig till her own hair grows in again? There seems to be a consensus that her long hair looks better, and you like it too.

Phoebe Nocturne

Bella has her own strange morality about all of this. Forcing a man to willingly submit to complete surgery and lose the most crucial element of going back to anything resembling male is one thing. Forcing a trans woman, which she saw and accepted Kris as at that point, to undergo surgery she did not willingly choose for any reason is entirely different. The way she spoke about Kris when she "accepted" her implied that she was an anomaly, that Bella's victims had NEVER actualized as women in her eyes before, and that she made a mistake in her own ideology by taking Chris in the first place. I doubt she believed for a second Kris would ever even attempt to re-masculinize... and it turns out, yeah. She didn't. I don't think the voice surgery was even to "bring out Kris' real self" so much as her voice is public, and matching it to her appearance is important to her being accepted in society as a woman. No one but those who Kris chooses should ever see what's in her panties, and I think even for Bella that choice is something Kris should have a say in herself. Again, even the men she changes have a choice in the matter... she doesn't force the surgery on them, she makes them ASK for it to earn points. I can't imagine she'd then force it on Kris, someone she admitted she was wrong about, even if she believed it would be better for her or what she'd ultimately want. At least, that's how I've understood and interpreted things so far!

E, the 4th image of Kris putting lipstick on was superb! I think it is the most beautiful image of her. That is a model magazine picture, high quality and special! You're are so talented E!!!

Crewchick

Very well said, you expressed thing far better on several subject than my own lame efforts and touched on things I could not even find the words to properly express, and you did so ever so eloquently.

Claire

I haven’t read all the comments so maybe this was mentioned before but.., Image 13 is like a mirror image of Botticelli’s Birth of Venus! (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Birth_of_Venus) Maybe it’s a coincidence but it’s just too good of a reference. I’ll have to start looking more carefully at Emory’s beautiful images…

Robertlouis

You’re far too kind, Diana. I just open my mind and let my keyboard ramble! As it happens, I very often think that you are one of the most perceptive commentators on here, with a sensitivity and sharp intelligence that matches Emory’s own high standards. And like any red blooded male on the site, I’m madly in love with Kris, not just for her looks, but for her amazing resilience and capacity for love in spite of everything she’s had to endure.

Emory Ahlberg

💕💖🔥 Thank you, Zoe! More to come (obviously, lol)

Emory Ahlberg

I'm (so extremely modestly) proud of some of these panels. 🥺 😉

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you so much, Gemma! Kris is sooo beautiful. I'm jealous of her! And I love that her beauty here isn't just about aesthetics because she's also owning her own image. In the basement, her beauty was a tool, a performance for others. Now, it's something she gets to define for herself. Her hair (OMG), the way she holds herself - it’s all part of her finally seeing a reflection that feels like her own. (And not Chris) I have to say that the voice surgery was a crucial piece for me in that puzzle. From my own experience and that of so many other trans people I know, your voice is such an integral part of your identity. It's often one of the first things people clock, and having a voice that doesn't match how you feel inside can be a constant, grating dissonance. For Bella to give Kris that gift, even from a twisted place of validation, was a profound turning point. It removed one of the last major barriers between who she could become and how the world would perceive her.

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you so much, Allison! I love your observation about her "simply being." That's what I was aiming for. After years of being actively made into someone, of performing a role for survival, those six weeks are about Kris discovering what it means to just exist on her own terms. The mundane things, like picking out her own clothes or applying makeup because she wants to, become these huge, radical acts of self-definition. It’s in those quiet, unobserved moments that she stops being a project and starts being a person. `😊

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Maggie! That dynamic with Ben is... a lot. His whole deal is that he sees Kris / Chris as a problem to be solved, a broken thing to be fixed. It comes from a place of love, I think, but it’s a smothering, erasing kind of love. He’s so desperate to get his old friend back that he can’t see the woman standing right in front of him. In his mind, he’s being the protective best friend, the hero swooping in to save the day. The tragedy is that his "help" is just another form of erasure for Kris. As for whether that makes him a candidate for Bella… we'll see! 😊

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Diana! I want the world to feel "lived in" and as real as possible...

Emory Ahlberg

😄 Thank you, Jade... I'm specializing in sunsets and boobs. I figure with those credentials, I'll never go hungry lol

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you so much, Crystal! Your thought about the "search for her true self" is something I've thought about a lot... and probably Kris, too. I guess I always saw it not as a search for a preexisting identity and more as the violent forging of a new one. The inner turmoil isn’t just about Chris accepting a new body - but also a battle between two different people who were born from the same trauma. Chris represents the life that was stolen, the ghost of the man who followed the rules and believed in a logical, fair world. He clings to Kayla because she's the anchor to that lost reality. Kris, though, is the person who had to be born in the chaos to navigate it. She’s not a mask Chris wears... she’s the survivor who learned to wield femininity as both a shield and a weapon. 😊

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Kris! Obviously, I really enjoy writing it as a 'film noir' story... and also an exploration of identity. 😊

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you so much, Kirsten. 💕 Naturally, I love all my stories equally for different reasons - but Homecoming is really special to me, too! 😊 There's just something about Chris/Kris that I find especially compelling!

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you so much, Tim! 💕 Kris certainly makes it hard to look away from those very pretty face...

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Phoebe! Yeah, Cindy is in such a tangled, awful spot... and I have more of her story to tell, as well. She is terrified and under direct orders from The Cunt... but obviously she has chosen also to live as a woman - and yet she's still being treated as a 'creation.' I'm so happy the little reveal of "Kristine" worked. Obviously, choosing a name is a profound part of the trans experience, and I wanted that moment to feel significant. 😊 That question about whether Chris and Kris are truly separate is really the absolute heart of the story. From my perspective, Kris *needs* to believe they are distinct individuals to function. The trauma she endured was so absolute that her mind had to create a partition. Chris is the ghost of a life that was stolen, a reminder of a gentler person who couldn't have possibly survived Bella's basement. Kris is the person who was forged in that fire. Is that true? Hmmm, we'll see!

Emory Ahlberg

Incredible comments, both of you! 💕 I can't tell you how much fun it is to see this kind of conversation about the story. Phoebe’s take on Bella’s psychology is very close to how I see her. Bella is a sadist, but she operates on a very specific (horrifying) code. Her entire methodology is built around the idea of breaking a man’s will and making him choose his own change. The points system, the punishments, the rewards, it's all designed to erode a man’s identity until he begs for the very thing he once feared. Forcing sexual reassignment surgery would be, in her mind, an admission of failure. It would mean she couldn’t make her subject ask for it. So when Chris defied her to save Dustin’s life, Bella’s entire worldview on him shifted. She no longer saw a man to be broken, but a woman to be respected... a "lioness." In that moment, forcing bottom surgery on Kris would've violated her own twisted code. It would be a different kind of cruelty, one without the psychological victory she craves. The voice surgery was a practical “gift” for navigating the public world, something to help Kris pass and be safe. This leads right into Diana's point about the diner speech and the "choice" to remain Kris. You're absolutely right that from a purely practical standpoint, the path back to Christopher Bowman is a fantasy. The damage is irreversible. His face, his voice, his ability to have children... all of that is gone forever. But Kris’s speech to Ben is not really about logistics, I don't think. It's more like a declaration of her internal reality. When she talks about choice, she's telling Ben that the person he is trying to "save" no longer exists. Christopher is a ghost now. As far as she's concerned, his last act was saving Dustin. The choice she describes is the one she makes every day: to live as the person who survived, or to let the trauma swallow her whole and become nothing. She frames it as a choice because Ben is a man who thinks in terms of problems and solutions. She is trying to tell him, in the only language he might understand, to stop trying to "fix" her. (That said, we saw and followed Chris earlier in the story... so how much of what she's saying is true?) Also, Diana, your observation about the absence of Chris's family is a deliberate part of Kris's psychology. In her mind, those parents and siblings belong to Christopher. So to engage with them would be to engage with that life, with a past that feels like it happened to someone else. It's a form of self-preservation. She is barely holding it together dealing with the two people who bridge her past and present, Kayla and Ben. To reintroduce an entire family unit, with all their memories and expectations of the son they lost, would be an emotional avalanche she DEFINITELY isn't equipped to handle.

Emory Ahlberg

Thanks, Robert! Yeah, these six weeks I think are key for us to see. And I think maybe it's in these mundane moments (the lipstick, the nail polish, the shopping) that identity is really forged. The trauma of the brothel created Kris, but the solitude of that apartment is where she chose who she wanted to become. It’s interesting how you describe Ben’s reaction. I guess I’ve always seen his refusal to listen as being born from brotherly love that’s been curdled by three years of guilt. He needs to "fix" Chris to fix his own failure in not finding him sooner. If he accepts Kris as she is now, he has to accept that the friend he knew is gone, and he has to confront the messy reality that happiness for Kris might not look anything like the life he envisioned for his friend. I'm loving the subtle film noir aesthetic 😊 And of course true noir rarely has a perfectly happy ending... I love her long hair, too! The shorter wig right now wasn't bought by her, so maybe she'll get a longer one! 😉

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you so much, P! It's one of my absolute favorites, too. Really, that shot is the whole episode in a single frame. In the basement, makeup was never FOR her. It was armor, a uniform, a performance she had to put on to survive. But in that apartment, all alone, that act of putting on lipstick is the first time she's choosing to be beautiful just for herself. 💕

Emory Ahlberg

That painting has always haunted me because it's about this woman who is born fully formed, an adult, arriving on the shore. And in a lot of ways, that's Kris... born from the wreckage of Chris's life. 💖

Wojtek

Episode 27 page 18 there is a typo: " i did, of couse." should be "i did, of course." Kris with black long wavy hairs look gorgeous.
