Jill face looks so beautiful in this episode. I particularly love how pretty and flawless she looks in images 13,24 and 26. This episode provides such a great understanding to the inner core of the business and training aspects of the Second Dawn operations. It is also interesting to see the different approaches of the trainers, from subtle manipulation (Holly), to bullying brutalisation (Davis), and then ultimately to delusional aspirations of the unresolved traumatic acting out of Mr Xu. By the way, hasn’t Davis dropped a few pounds! It is also interesting to note that Davis, just because he knows and says he is a psychopath and bastard, makes him feel superior and special to everyone else- that’s narcissism for you. Also, by the way, Jill has now just entered the competition as one of the favourites for ‘who shot JR?!’ oops, I mean Mr Xu!

Hmmm that is... interesting... I still am not sure who will shoot Xu... now I am leaning for Jill as well... from my personal observation i am taking the opinion that yes Davis is bad man... but I am no longer so 100% sure about "current" Xu... he created this hell that is undisputable fact... but his physiological train of thought presented lately has some sense to me... i mean this does not excuse him for what he did in general but i think Davis is wrong here... what Davis sees by his dirty lenses as being manipulative ultimate evil master i think it is more like "searching for hidden element" which is somehow related to his own past... and i think i can say that Xu has changed... for better? That is also disputable LOL if you put coal into nasty environment... you'll finally get... a diamond, right? and yes... Davis has no interest in diamonds... he's a hard cash dude... LOL

This is another great chapter. Jill really gotten around not just with just others like her in terms of helping them adjust into "womanhood" , but some of the guards, like Tyler have been checking her out her beauty. Im wondering if Jill and her father will have a plan to escape the island? This chapter is also expands on the differences between Xu and Davis in terms of secrety and vily honesty. I really want Davis to get his just desserts based on treating these "women" as prizes instead of people. I can't wait to see Connor/Connie is doing.

Emory, Im sorry if I'm expanding my "What if" ideas too much. It's just because I really enjoy your series so much with psychology, fan service, identity, rebirth, and self discovery. I want to share some more ideas if you have the time in October. Here are some more ideas: What if the main characters switch roles from their original stories? For examples, Jack being taken by Bella, instead of Chris/Kris from Homecoming and becomes Jill similar to Chris' situation. Chris/Kris being taken to Xu's Island and being under the caretaker of Davis in Jack and Jill.

Excellent episode, I can't wait to see the father's reaction to seeing his son with two breasts and a beautiful ass, he must even look like his own deceased mother.

I love that Jill warns Tyler with his pretty face. NGL, thought Tyler was woman for a second when I opened this chapter. But I have a feeling he’ll be a woman soon too

Do you think that maybe because the bulk of this story has been told from Jill’s POV that we have a rosier picture of Xu than is warranted by reality? I’m starting to suspect as much.

Y’all, I legitimately thought Tyler was a super cute dyke lesbian. (And Emory’s like… “there’s still time Jade” which, ok) but frfr, he better run away before it’s too late. He’s on someone’s acquisition watch list… Emory, the details you pack into these visuals are truly mind blowing. The body language and expressions of Davis’s toys are subtle and absolutely heart wrenching. They are the embodiment of dead bodies walking. 💔

Not necessarily my friend. I wouldn't say that because we see Xu mainly through Jill's eyes that would mean that we got "rosier" version of Xu than we should. This story already has couple thousands of pages right? I think there is enough material already to say that current Xu is not the same Xu who started this "factory" and I think he truly beliefs by what he sees in Jill that he has done "something" that he could only dream about when was younger and now he is ready to willingly take the bullet even or if especially it will be delivered by... Jill...

Emory is going to reveal that Xu not only willing takes the bullet but begs Liam to finish him. It’s only because Ryan brains Liam with a chair that Xu isn’t already dead from the first episode of this story arc.

The single most horrifying thing about this return to the living nightmare that is the island of Second Dawn is that what Davis says to Jill is absolutely true: he is the only person on the entire island who always speaks the truth. He may be duplicitous in other ways, but he never actually lies. And in the morally compromised and crazy world of Second Dawn, that fact is chilling. He’s a vile and horrible human being, but he’s been straight with Jill throughout when nobody else has, certainly not Holly, Mason or Xu, and we don’t know what her father’s motives and intentions are yet. Now to your art, Emory. I think you’ve surpassed your own high standards with the facial expressions and close ups in this episode, especially with Jill. The perfection of her skin tone is quite remarkable, and the emotional shifts on that beautiful face are both subtle and stunning. The scene with the toys is a stark reminder of just how brutal the basic transactional foundations of Second Dawn are. Those girls are just commodities to Davis and the monsters who will ultimately buy them, as are the companions. They simply get nicer clothes and better food; they don’t get freedom and they don’t get their gender back. The entire edifice is sick beyond belief. Time to bring it all crashing down. Now, who’s going to fire the first shot?

Thank you for this, Robert. That insight about Davis is so sharp. His honesty is his most sadistic weapon. He gets a thrill from rubbing the ugly truth in everyone's face, reminding them that their gilded cage is still a cage. It's his brutal clarity that makes him so terrifying. The first shot might not be a bullet, but a choice.
