Hey everyone!

I was blown away by the amazing reaction to Party Crasher last week. It was just a little "snackable" story I put together for fun, but it seems like a lot of you really enjoyed having a short, complete piece to dig into!

That has gotten me thinking about the mix of content on my Patreon. Right now, we have the big, epic comic series that take years to unfold, and the longer illustrated novels that take 6+ months. But I realized we don't usually have much in the way of quick, satisfying, one-shot stories anymore.

So, I'm thinking of bringing back a more regular "short story" format! These would be 5-7 page stories, sometimes standalone, sometimes little glimpses into the lives of our favorite characters when they're "off-screen" (like what Kendra or Brooke are up to! Or even main characters like Nikki and Sandy when they're "on hiatus").

This would give us all a fun, bite-sized story to enjoy a couple of times a month and would allow me to explore some different themes and characters without committing to a massive new series.

(This does not mean the novels like Anywhere but Boring and Taylor Made would go away - the goal would be to diversify, not to replace.)

But before I make any changes to the schedule, I'd love to get your thoughts. What do you think of this idea? Please see the poll below!

Thank you all, as always, for your incredible support. You're the reason I get to tell these stories, and your feedback is so important to me.

Now, as a reward for reading all that, here's Kris, enjoying a moment of peace - and then Kris again, breaking our hearts and minds. 💕(High resolution versions in the attachments)

I love what you're currently doing. that said, having little snacks as you put it is wonderful! I love the longer unfolding stories but having the little breaks here and there are also really enjoyable

Tuor

I chose "other" because I prefer to leave it to the author's inspiration. If the spirit moves you to short or long I am sure I will love it! Thanks for the Kris eye candy!!

Emory Ahlberg

💕 Thank you Tuor! Sometimes I have TOO MUCH inspiration, to be honest lol

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Rinny! ♥️ Yes, the longer stories certainly won’t be going anywhere… although of course there would be a trade off… I only have so many hours in the day, sadly. So maybe there’d only be one novella chapter per month. I haven’t quite figured it out yet, if we go in this direction. But I was imagining (for instance) checking in on Nikki and Sandy for, or more standalone stories like Party Crasher.

Rinny writes

Wonderful. That is kinda what I think i was trying to say; keeping the same cadence you have not but getting the little one offs in the mix. Fun little bit for us and hopefully a little break for you too

Gemma

I chose option 2. I also like more initial resistance around feminisation and other changes that occur to the protagonists even in these in the vignettes. Also thanks for latest two images of Kris. Seeing her in different outfits, even the casual image of her relaxing in her pretty night dressing gown makes her, her story and her life more real.

Gemma

Adding further to previous thought, as well as following up on one of your suggestions. Having some opportunities to see casual images of Sandy and Nikki, for example, in different outfits and situation would further so appreciated. This would further add to the realism you have created around them. As we get to see them in various new everyday real life settings and situations that capture some of the normal day to day aspects of their new lives as girls.

Hello Emory... I love your work too, if you're inspired, it'll be great!! But don't let it slow down your work on Niki. Kisses

Helena Grace

I'll be happy with whatever you decide, and it will be amazing. Long form is always a treat because it's something I can sink my teeth and imagination into, though, as Echoes showed, length isn't a requirement. Being able to see slices of the girls' lives outside of their main stories is really tempting. Whatever you decide will be amazing.

KenCom

I love ur comic's the most emory. I'd love longer comic's. But I love ur art regardless

Maggie Heels

I voted for second option not the first one and I'll be happy to explain why :) So, Same as Helena I'll be happy with whatever you decide of course. It will always be worth of my attention. I chose "I like the idea, but I prefer the longer comics/novellas" because. I thought that if you start doing [again] more shorter stories, then it may have an impact on your free time more aaand second reason is that every time when I read one of your short stories, when I finish them I feel a bit sad that they ended so quickly... Clearly to me all of your stories ever made deserves J&J length simply as that :)

Tiki D

I like short stories have same amount of characters/development, backstories, and worldbuilding as longer comics. This is a perfect idea for producing "What if ?..." short stories, like Jack and Jill. There can be after stories of alternate timelines from different branches that were mention from my Jack and Jill "What if ?..." ideas.

StepBold2025

Your detailed transformation visuals are genuinely stunning, it’s what sets your work apart. I think if you’re experimenting with shorter stories, leaning even harder into the richness of the transformation itself would be really powerful. That process, how it feels, looks, unfolds is what hooked me in the beginning (TG Comics over two years ago), and I’d love to see it remain front and centre. The longer narratives are great too, but sometimes the core transformation can get a little lost in the broader arc. Just my two cents, but sincerely, thank you for all the incredible content you create!

Thor

I think all your creations are great and I love them, but I feel there are more creators doing shorter stories, and only a few that do longer stories really well, like you. That is why I would prefer you work on your longer stories.

mdaily

not every writer has the ability to make a very long story interesting. You have a gift for adding layer upon layer and keep us on the edge of our seats. I can get very invested in your characters, as though they are friends or younger people whom I worry about. then again, I think Nikkis story started as a little one shot, so I guess it doesn't hurt to plant a little seed here and there

Claire

I didn’t think about it that way. I changed my vote!

Crewchick

Absolutely concur. Whatever you produce will be worth it. But like Helena and Maggie Heels I do have a preference for the longer stories.

Shawn Parsons

If the snackable stuff was more insight to the big stores like running half sisiters for a season and seeing what Sandy does off screen sure!. THat would be good cause it could add to the flavour of the story in a minor sense. Seeing hwta the other girls do in Jack and Jill etc.

Bartoon

I just want more Nikki

Crewchick

Everyone here has some great comments. And this all comes to a matter of personal tastes and preferences. All your art work is amazing long format or short. So I know in that regard we will be treated to more amazing art work no matter what you decide. I do like the small format in general. It can be a nice quick treat. But for me, if the story is really good it is like getting a bag full of those bite sized candies on Halloween. You get a little sugar rush but you don't really feel satisfied and wind up feeling a little empty and very hungry for more. Still everyone likes a little candy now and again. But I would hate to see the short stuff prolong or delay the long stuff. The thing though I like about the longer formats is that they are more about the journey and not simply rushing to the destination in 6-12 pages. For example I did like Party Crasher, but it went from arriving at the party to a year later and a full transformation. I do like the idea of using the short stories for very focused glimpses into some of the longer stories and their characters.

Robertlouis

Ive gone for Option 4. Here’s why. I’ve withheld my comments until after considering and rereading Taylor and Dylan’s tales in full, especially the most recent chapter of the former, as I think it’s the finest prose you’ve ever produced. Firstly, you’re already incredibly generous with your time and talent on behalf of your readers, and I’m not sure that we necessarily appreciate just how much hard work and effort you put in. Not only that, you’re also hugely conscientious about keeping to deadlines, and the pressures of those, when you have a day job and family issues to deal with as well are surely enough. So here are my thoughts for what they’re worth. I think you should maintain the current format, but include one or maybe two long-form prose based stories like Taylor per year, because it’s very clear to me that you love doing them, and also that they let an otherwise overlooked aspect of your talent shine. Hope that helps. Rob xxx

Robertlouis

I agree, Diana. And have you noticed that whenever Emory publishes a short story there are lots of requests for a continuation? That answers the question for me.

Robertlouis

Oh, almost forgot. If this debate were to continue with more pictures of Kris, that would be delightful too!

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you for your comment, Gemma! This is very helpful.

Emory Ahlberg

Yeah, I absolutely love the idea of showing more of Nikki and Sandy's casual, everyday moments. I think it could be a fantastic way to keep their stories alive between episodes and add to the realism of their world. I'll definitely be exploring how to bring in those slice-of-life scenes!

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you so much! Don't you worry, nothing will slow down Nikki's story. There's so much more of her journey to share. These new ideas are meant to be little additions, not replacements for the main comics. Kisses back to you! 😘

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you so much Hel! That's what I'm aiming for - a mix of deep, long-form stories to sink into and those tempting little "snacks" to enjoy in between.

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you so much! I love making the comics, and your kind words about my art mean a lot. I'll definitely keep making longer comics... this would be more about adding shorter ones into the mix. I'm so glad you're enjoying the stories, Ken! 💕

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you so much for explaining your vote, Maggie! That's really helpful feedback! I completely understand. It's a huge compliment that you enjoy the worlds enough to want every story to be J&J length! Hehe. My goal is to find a balance where the shorter stories add some fun without taking away from the longer epics...

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you for this idea, Tiki - using the shorter format to explore those "What if...?" alternate timelines from Jack & Jill. It's a perfect way to add that depth and worldbuilding you mentioned without committing to another epic. You've given me some really exciting possibilities to think about... 🤔

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you so much for this feedback, Step! 💕 That's incredibly insightful. You're right, the detailed transformation visuals are something I love creating, and I can see how that focus might sometimes get diluted in the longer stories. Using shorts to really lean into that process is a brilliant suggestion. Thank you!

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you so much, Thor. I really appreciate you saying that. I love that you value the longer, more in-depth stories. And you gave me a really important perspective to consider... you're right there aren't many creators committed to those epic narratives. In fact, that's why I started Jack & Jill in the first place! And please don't worry - they're not going anywhere!

Emory Ahlberg

Wow, thank you so much, mdaily. It's my greatest hope as a writer that the characters feel like real people you can get invested in and worry about. And you're so right - Nikki's epic journey did start from a tiny seed. It’s a wonderful reminder! Are there any other "seeds" you'd like to see explored more fully in a longer comic?

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Shawn. Fantastic idea, tbh, and it's exactly what I've been thinking about! I love the concept of using "snackable" content to give deeper insight and flavor to the main stories... seeing what Sandy and Nikki are up to off-screen, or glimpses of the other girls in Jack & Jill. I think it could add so much to the world-building and keeps the characters alive. There would be one-shot, too, of course (like Party Crashers) but I love the idea of doing both. 😊

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you for such a thoughtful and beautifully articulated comment (as usual) Diana! Your "bite-sized candies" analogy is perfect... because yeah it captures the appeal AND the potential frustration of short-form content. But don't worry, this is meant to be more of an apéritif than a meal replacement hehe. 💕

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you so much, Rob. Your comment gave me a lot to think about... as your comments so often do! Reading that you feel the last chapter of Taylor Made is my finest prose honestly just... wow. That means so much to me, especially from you. 💕 And thank you for your incredible kindness and consideration regarding my workload. You're right that I do feel a lot of pressure, and I really appreciate you seeing that... To be completely honest, I work about 40 - 50 hours a week on the comics on top of my regular 'real' job so sometimes it can be... a lot. But I love doing it because of all the amazing readers and fantastic comments like yours. Your suggestion is really insightful. Focusing on one or two dedicated, long-form prose stories a year, rather than constantly trying to juggle them with everything else, feels like a much more sustainable and joyful approach. It would give those stories the space they deserve, and let that part of my talent shine, just as you said. It’s a wonderful idea that I'm going to seriously consider. Hope that helps? Rob, it helps immensely. Thank you. 💕

Emory Ahlberg

LOL... I like where your head is at, Robert! 🤣

Bartoon

She better be cumming, real soon!!!!!

Bartoon

Also, unrelated, omfg I can't wait to see the Halloween pinups. Omg I'm so excited for whatever Nikki's wearing
