Remember when I said this was "a story about someone's first time in a bikini"?

Surprise - it's Abigail from Taylor Made. 😊

It's been seven months since we said goodbye to Taylor and Abigail in Chapter 15, and I missed them. I wanted to check in! See how they're doing. Find out what spring break looks like for a nonbinary physics nerd and their pink-haired chaos gremlin best friend.

This one is told from Abigail's POV, which was a lot of fun to write. Getting inside her head is... an experience. She sees the world so differently from Taylor, and she sees Taylor so differently from how Taylor sees themself.

I hope you enjoy catching up with them as much as I did. These two have a permanent place in my heart and I don't think I'll ever be able to stay away for too long. 💕

Gemma

Great episode. Nice to see the girls again, loved the way you continued their journey and their story. Thanks also for the ‘tucking’ tutorial!

Zoe Storm

I love this. And I feel Abigail's doubts so very much 💖

Pet Jeffery

I'm really looking forward to reading this. Abigail is my favourite Taylor Made character.

Kris Greg

I had no idea that this was going to be a Taylor Made story. It's nice to revisit these 2, & I wouldn't mind seeing how they progress in life whenever the impulse to write about them strikes.

Bo Ea

Nice to see the duo back. You still keep reminding me of the similarities between Taylor and me. The one the corrupted my English had magenta hair - she later attempted pink. Btw, a much better page background.

M Fielding

Thanks, Emory. I kind'a missed Taylor and Abigail too. Very nice to see them again!

Emory Ahlberg

Thanks, Kris! Yeah, I was sneaky about it 😊. And I might just end up doing that - revisiting them was really great.

Emory Ahlberg

Hope you like it, Pet. And, yeah, Abigail is awesome.

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Zoe. I loved writing it and revisiting them with the art (more real this time). And, yeah, same... 💕

That was unexpected and delightful. I love both of these people and their fears are so real. The fact they both look perfect in their bikinis is neither here nor there, it's about self image. Although, if I were Abigail I probably wouldn't have gone for one that was quite so skimpy. Although it is exactly what I imagine she'd buy for herself because she's just that kind of girl. I'm echoing all the other wishes to see more from this quartet at some point because they are just so adorable.

Jade Diaz

Beautiful story about Will that also features some girls in bikinis I guess? Not sure.

Emory Ahlberg

Don't try the advanced version to start, Gemma! hehe

Wes Adams

It was so great to catch up with Taylor and Abigail again. Both of them seriously lucked out with their partners. Though, a little TMI about Abigail's texting habits. LoL!

Thomas Tolliver

Wait wait wait, we saw everyone's swimsuit EXCEPT Maya? 😛

Jenny S

What an absolute delight! So nice to see the Taylor Made crew again, and this touches on such a real anxiety I have felt many times, that catching yourself before crossing a threshold. Also, I appreciate just how *frank* the tucking conversation was, you rarely see that stuff broached in a straight forward way in fiction. Great writing, and gorgeous art as always! <3

Emory Ahlberg

LOL - you're right, sorry, Thomas! Next time. 😊

Pet Jeffery

Thank you Emory. I read the text file on a kindle device last night and, this morning, I've refreshed my memory of the pictures, scrolling through the pdf. It was good to see Abigail and Taylor again although rather a pity that we don't see Maya's yellow one piece. Bikinis are not things about which I often think, a challenge I could never have faced. It's almost a relief that I'm now way too old for one. A great short story with excellent artwork. Just one correction. 'Empathetic' is an error, the word should be 'empathic'. It's one of those words into which (for what reason I can't imagine) people insert an extra unnecessary syllable, like 'orientate' instead of 'orient'.

“Less straight people”. Aaaargh! My eyes! Fewer. Fewer!!! Loved the story. Love Abigail. Love Taylor. (Will & Maya too!)

Another literary home run, muse Emory. Taylor and Abigail's fears while trying on their bikinis do remind me of...well, other characters and their own fears and terrors.

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Ellen! 💕 Yeah, I wanted to surprise you with a little more Taylor and Abigail. They've been on my mind lately and I just love them so much. I think Abigail's confidence "bark" is bigger than her bite - I bet a lot of us can relate. And I doubt very much this will be the last time we check in on them!

Emory Ahlberg

They're delightful to write - and hopefully to read. Thank you, M. 💕

Emory Ahlberg

Thanks, Steve! And 🤣 - but do really think our sweet Abigail would think "fewer?" She doesn't seem like the grammatically correct kinda girl!

SteveP

🤣

I just read Tan Lines. It Made Me Cry Tears of Joy! You are Brilliant! I Look forward to reading All of your Creations.

Emory Ahlberg

Aw, I'm so glad! Did you already read Taylor Made? 💕

Emory Ahlberg

LOL, thank you, Wes! Unfortunately / fortunately for us Abigail seems like a chronic over sharer 💕

Alex Hait

Thank you for continuing this story. And thank you for letting Will & Abigail get together.

Maggie Heels

It was wonderful to meet those two again ❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️

Just found this. Fabulous to meet Taylor and co again, and how you produced a short story which engrossed us like a much longer book. Amazing work
