The official October calendar is coming soon but first I want to put something to an actual vote.

For a while now, I've been doing what I think of as comic "trilogies." That is, three episodes of one series in a month before rotating to the next.

There's something I like about this. For you, you get a big dose of a series, and I get to stay in that headspace. But there's also a downside: there's sometimes a month or more between updates for a series.

For example, before Half Sisters - Episode 83 was released on September 27, the previous episode was all the way back on August 26th!

The alternative is, well, alternating. There'd still be three comics per month, but they'd mix series. So October might look like:

Half Sisters 84 → Homecoming 38 → Half Sisters 85

Then November would start with Homecoming 39, and so on. You'd never go more than a few weeks without an update for either story.

Both have trade-offs! Trilogies let me (and you) stay immersed. Alternating keeps both stories fresh. Obviously, there's no wrong answer! I just want to know what works best for you.

Jill says, "Vote away!" 💕

Pictures of Jill, Sandy, & Nikki make me happy.

Your rendering is getting better as time goes on...I'm to know if you think it will get to the point, eventually, that it will become almost indistinguishable from a photographic image

Jenny S

I respect you asking us, but I really think it's whatever you find the most comfortable and enjoyable. If you switch to "alternate," and find it's less fun, we'll understand if you switch it back. <3

Tuor

I’ll have what Jill is having, thank you. 🥰

Katherine Walton-Elliott

I just enjoy reading whatever you choose to work on, tbh. I said alternate for the sake of the vote., but please feel free to discount it if it's not your preferred response. :)

Gemma

I agree with Jenny. Whatever suits you best. As you said both options have their benefits for reader and writer. I believe what rhythm makes you happy will, most likely provide the best outcome also for the reader. I chose trilogies. But clicked one, then the other, then back again, which suggests that I am not fussed either way.

I'd vote just 2 C her!😍😍💋💋❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

Crewchick

Whatever the outcome, Jill has my vote! I voted for the trilogy becacause I tend to binge series.

Rupert Scow

That's amazing! She's a very gorgeous woman!

Ellen Mellor

I voted trilogy because I like the immersion of getting a chunk of story but my real preference is for whatever you find works best for you.

I would strongly prefer alternating. Of your three ongoing series, Homecoming is the darkest, Half Sisters is the lightest. J&J is somewhere in between. When Homecoming restarted recently, I found that it was even darker than I remembered and I didn't comment because I didn't know what to say of it. Half Sisters is shot through with joy amid the gloom and it's often downright funny. A whole month of just Homecoming, with no Half Sisters to lift my spirits, seems to me a bit grim. Other people have said 'whatever works for you', but I think that alternating is likely to work better for you. I really don't think that it can be good for your sanity to immerse yourself in a whole month of the grim world of Homecoming without coming up for air (and laughter) into the world of Half Sisters. Incidentally, I've voted many times (I'm old!) but never have I found polling station staff displaying anything like as much cleavage as Jill. But, for all I know to the contrary, perhaps it's what you Los Angeles folk have come to expect.

I think the number one priority is which choice impacts you the least and gives you the ability not to be overwhelmed by having to get an episode out. Also if it were a streaming service I prefer to have the shows an episode a week ( or in this case a month). The stories and characters are all so well written and illustrated there would always be something to get our attention.

Claire

I voted, but I honestly think it should be what’s best for you. Patreon was started with the creator in mind. … and to be honest, it’s no chore to revisit a few posts back to refresh my memory. It’s actually really nice.

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Jenny! I appreciate that! You're right that we can always just run it like an experiment!

Emory Ahlberg

Aw, thank you so much, Katherine! Honestly, I can see the benefit of both. I haven't done alternate in a long time, so it might be woth it just to try it out again.

Emory Ahlberg

Me too, Kris! And creating them also makes me happy. 😊

Elrod W

I like alternating stories, but as an author myself, I know that sometimes, you get on a roll and need to keep a story moving while the mojo is there. Do what's best for your story-telling. I will do my part and (try to) be patient.

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Ellen! 💕 I think I'm still trying to figure that out myself!

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you very much, James! 💖 There are times when these characters FEEL very real, so that fits!

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Crystal. That's a kind thing to say! And I'm with you on the weekly-show thing. A binge drop is great for one weekend, and then you're sitting around with nothing to watch! We're giving alternating a try, so we'll see how it feels.

Emory Ahlberg

Ha! The click-click-click-back made me laugh, Gemma. We're trying alternating for now, but trilogies aren't gone for good. If I find I miss being in one story for a whole month, we'll switch again!

Gemma

I can see the irony in clicking back and forward between alternative choices.

Emory Ahlberg

Jill thanks you for your support and would like it noted that she ran a clean election!!!

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Claire! I loved hearing you go back and reread a few episodes to catch up. 💕

Emory Ahlberg

Thanks, Elrod. Spoken like a fellow writer. The mojo never checks the calendar first!

Emory Ahlberg

You made the case better than I did in the post, Pet. Homecoming with a Half Sisters chaser is a good argument. And you don't have to know what to say about Homecoming. Kris doesn't make it easy on anyone, Kris included!💕

Emory Ahlberg

Counted, Alex! We're going to try to alternate for now but it's an experiment.

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you! Here's hoping alternating turns out to be the thing that works.

Emory Ahlberg

Oh and I can neither confirm nor deny that this is what LA polling stations look like. I can confirm turnout would be through the roof!!!

Pet Jeffery

It's easier to imagine that polling stations look like that in LA than to imagine them looking that way in Vermont. Maybe that's one reason for your move back to California.

Crewchick

I would expect nothign less from Jill. But I will keep an eye out incase Davis and his thugs show up at the polls to intimidate voters.
