Sandy returns to the scene of the crime...

Okay! I wanted to make Sandy's return extra special, so this episode is mega-sized at 24 pages PLUS a bonus pinup for good measure.

Welcome back, Sandy! 🥳

Now, many of the characters in this part of Half Sisters are callbacks to Maid for Life. For those who haven't read it or need a little refresher:

Scott was a young thief without any living parents or prospects for the future. After breaking into Mrs. Ferris' mansion, he was captured and given the choice between being arrested or becoming the maid. Mrs. Ferris promised that upon completing his "punishment," Scott would be given money for college. Scott agreed to this. Mrs. Ferris was rarely at home and so supervision of Scott mostly fell to her manservant, Mortimer.

Over time, Mortimer (who believed Scott shared the same 'energy' as Mrs. Ferris daughter, Sofia) slowly transformed Scott into a girl against his will. Eventually, Scott left the mansion without completing his "contract" (and without permission) and found refuge with his old friend, Josh. Now a physically convincing woman, Josh assumed Scott was transitioning and renamed him Sandy. They briefly became lovers.

However, Mortimer tracked Scott down and injected him with a sedative. Scott woke up in Texas, irate and shocked to find further transformations had been forced upon him, including orchiectomy, breast augmentation, and facial feminization. Mrs. Ferris began calling him Sofia.

Sofia / Sandy / Scott slowly adapted to his new life over the next few months. Mrs. Ferris proposed that she (he?) become her official heiress. Sandy eventually discovered (with the help of Jessica, with whom she had a tryst) that Mrs. Ferris' real daughter, Sofia, was a trans girl. Sofia was locked up by her father when he discovered she was taking estrogen. Later, Sofia somehow died. Jessica is suspicious about Mrs. Ferris’ involvement.

Hoping to get to the bottom of the mystery of what happened to the 'real' Sofia, Sandy called Josh (who was also an experienced thief) and asked him to investigate the mansion -- unfortunately, Josh was caught by Mortimer.

Meanwhile, in Texas, Sandy and Mrs. Ferris came to understand one another a little better and each agreed to give the other another chance.

The story now picks up with Sandy and Mrs. Ferris returning to Boston to see about Josh...

Phew!

I'm happy with most of the panels in this episode! I hope you like them, too. I can't wait to hear what you think! 💖

Oh, dear. Josh saw EVERYTHING and understood NOTHING. The worst possible outcome.

Sandy you are SO MUCH SHORTER than your mum. What’s it like down there? Also yes keep making jokes about your boobs. Oh god, Josh. I’d forgotten about him. I was so caught up in the girl drama I forgot about some guy. (jk I love Josh) Mrs Ferris calling Sandy ‘darling’! My heart is going to explode. She wants this mother/daughter relationship SO BAD. I wonder if she thinks back to, say, the time when they were trying on swimsuits and shudders at how she used to be. Okay, Sandy, hear me out: yes he is ogling you in an airport. BUT. He’s hot. Think about it. Mrs Ferris looks amazing btw. Like, super appropriate to how someone of her age and lifestyle OUGHT to look. And it’s good to see her owning up to her shit. Nice that it wasn’t a one-time thing. Oh god, and when she talks about Sofia I want to hug her. She’s so wounded. LMAO Mortimer has ONE MODE. “I’m not going to find him squeezed into a little French maid outfit?” Well, Sandy, if you subscribe to this Patreon… God. Mortimer would find such gainful employment at several other establishments across the world. Aha! The “another girl” slip. Embrace it, Sandy. Embrace it like the hot people who want to embrace YOU. OH MY GOD. Argh. I’m going to have such a hard time waiting for the next episode...

Alyson Greaves

god, Mr Ferris was a Second Dawn type guy who got crossed wires that his own daughter was becoming something like his secret fetish wasn’t he?

Maggie Heels

Just noticed it came out... didn't read it yet... too tired after some exhausting chores... but I'll definitely update my comment later today ❣️❣️❣️

Vyria Durav

'Mortimer, you can't keep giving boys estrogen' Mort, knowing Josh asked for it to 'better understand Sandy': hmm, better let them find that out on their own terms Mort, out loud: Yes, Mrs. Ferris

Nat

Sandy is absolutely glowwwwwwwwwwing in these illustrations, my god!

Alyson Greaves

Waiiiiit a minute. Pretty girl gets a plane across the country to meet up with her boyfriend Josh...? This has got the opening theme to Crazy Ex-Girlfriend stuck in my head AGAIN

Maggie Heels

No, no, no, NOOO Josh is unable to see full picture and he is now going into false conclusions. Sandy now IS A GIRL and there is no discussion about this... Sandy is not a product like "all the other boys" Jeezz how many of them were before??? Mrs Ferris knew about all of them??? Oh... She has still a lot to explain to Sandy in light of the principle, zero secrets maximum redemption... I really wish that Mrs Ferris really wants best for Sandy... it will be really tough task to explain all of this to Josh who is at the point where he sees only tiny scraps of all this "shit"... P.S. Sandy LOOKS MARVELOUS ❣️❣️❣️ Emory you definitely upgraded her renders since last time she showed up... she's so ALIVE 🫠🫠🫠 Page 14 those eyes... 😍🥰😍 Josh... I hope you'll apologize in the next part... that was not nice what you said... P.S.2 When Sandy is shown the whole dark truth of Mr. Ferris it will be a solid punch in the gut for Sandy and a potential reason to think about resisting full acceptance of her new self just as Nikki continues to do.

I'm a bit confused by Josh's reaction to Sandy. He already knew what she was, so why so surprised? Or is it that he refers to her forced transformation? I agree with Nikki Media that Sandy looks absolutely stunning in this episode. Yet, I still think she'd be hell of a lot prettier with a different hair style, and blonde. I really liked her before she was...altered.

Emory Ahlberg

Hi Pelican! Yes, Josh is saying he has realized Sandy (Scott) isn’t a trans girl like he assumed (which Scott played along with) and that he was forced into this transformation. That’s not okay with him.

Gemma

To start Emory, great opening summation of Sandy’s story. I appreciated more the role Mortimer undertook in Scott being chosen to undertake the changes he underwent to become Sandy. I also appreciated how loyal and focussed Mortimer is to attending to his Mistress Mrs Ferris’s broken, grief stricken heart.

Gemma

It will be interesting to see how Josh comes around following his cold initial reaction to Sandy. It seems being intimate, in his eyes with Sandy when he thought she was transgendered did not undermine his ‘heterosexual sensibilities’ and sense of self. I wonder, however, by learning that Sandy’s transformation was forced upon ‘Scott’ seems to have rocked and undermined his perceptions his sexuality. On top of this, I wonder if maybe, if Josh, based on the reality that Sandy’s forced feminisation, now feels he was tricked into engaging in what he might deem now to be a homosexual liaison. In relation to this, what does this ( he may fear) say about him? How also (he may feel) might Sandy might now views and perceive him, based on his actions as being guy. There are so many psychological possibilities which are being played out here with Josh, I am only making stab in the dark guesses around what he is experiencing. Alternatively, I also hold out hope for Scott and Jessica’s ongoing relationship which was down graded and trivialised by Mrs Mortimer. I think Sandy needs a ‘strong and dominant female’ to be with and to attend to her more submissive (but strong in her own way), burgeoning feminine sense of self.

Gemma

Error in last comment made - ‘his actions being seen as ‘gay’(not guy- auto correct error).

stacy C

Awww I expected Josh to be wearing that outfit in the last pic....hehe x

Bowie897

I think Mortimer and Mr. Davis should go out for a couple of beers sometime!

Gemma

I love the irony of the image and pose Sandy has as Josh tells her “I know your not a woman”

sketchyqueen

lovely as always emory! too tired for full in depth compliments rn but i’ll come back after sleeps :D

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Zoe!!!! Yes, Josh saw SOMETHING about apparently connected to Mr. Ferris and has deduced that Scott was force femmed into Sandy and this isn't sitting right with him for some reason. He's TECHNICALLY right, and yet...

Emory Ahlberg

Now a proper reply! 🥰 You know, Sandy being shorter than Mrs. Ferris (and everybody) does unintentionally also give off a mother/daughter vibe which I am only just now realizing but absolutely LOVE. Josh, right!? That ol’ so-and-so... Hey, at least he's cute! Mrs. Ferris ushering in her maternal instincts just sends my heart all over the place. And, yeah, Mortimer is a one-trick pony but WHAT a trick, huh? 😉

Emory Ahlberg

*intense hand rubbing* Aaaah, Maggie, the tangled webs we weave! I'm glad for your observant eyes. Sandy is genuinely unique, which just goes to show how much Mrs. Ferris meant it when she asked Sandy to be her daughter. She really sees something special in Sandy, and that in itself is pretty touching. And thank you! It makes me so happy to hear that the art is improving – that's genuinely one of my favorite parts about creating this comic 🎨✨ I agree, Sandy is really coming to life, and I think she looks more radiant now that she is starting to accept herself. 💖

Emory Ahlberg

HA! Mortimer does love his spontaneous hormone therapy. He's probably thinking of it as his 'signature move.' Mrs. Ferris really needs to get a leash on this manservant of hers before he starts turning everyone in Boston into beautiful women! 🤣 Oh, wait...

Emory Ahlberg

Thanks Nikki!!! I have to say, I think the Boston sunlight suits "Sandy" a lot better than the Texas sun. The new couture doesn't hurt either, right? 😄 I guess it's true what they say, money can't buy happiness, but it can definitely turn heads.

Emory Ahlberg

Hey Gemma, thanks! Mortimer's unquestioning loyalty is one of the things that brings a certain edge to the story. The lengths he's willing to go to fulfill Ferris's wishes, from the fierce protection to the bizarre requests, has always been a fascinating character point for me.

Emory Ahlberg

Hello Gemma! Your introspection on these matters is something I greatly appreciate. Ah, the interweavings of perceived gender, sexuality, and the self...it's a lot to unpack, isn't it? A Gordian knot of social constructs and personal identity. 😉 To your point, Josh's worldview has been shaken in ways he probably never foresaw, and it's yet to be seen how he moves on from this. The concept of homosexuality might indeed be a looming specter for him, given that he did indeed unwittingly partake in a liaison that in retrospect, may seem to him as gay. But is that what's bothering him? As for your concerns about Sandy's relationship with Jessica being downplayed by Mrs. Ferris... Well, Mrs. F is a bit old-fashioned. The idea of girl-on-girl fun is a fleeting fancy in her mind, but the reality of two women being in a serious relationship might be a bit much for her to comprehend. At least at this moment!

Alyson Greaves

To be fair, if I had his resources I’d be at it, too

Emory Ahlberg

😆 sorry to disappoint you, Stacy! Maybe he'll be in a maid's outfit before he gets out of the mansion.

Emory Ahlberg

🤣 I do not believe Mr. Davis would come out alive!

Emory Ahlberg

Me too! She was, evidently, a bit proud to show off her new assets (despite her also hating them, too) - and then Josh said what he said!
