Once again, you've done it. This, however, begs for a sequel, or a longer sequence that makes a short story. There is so much to explore here. Does the Lt break? Are there others so treated? Do some of the former men comfort each other? Perhaps as a band, they manage to escape? Then of course, the doubt by upper ranks, perhaps super-secret classification because this would be (or was) so damaging to morale. Then trying to setting into 'normal' lives - if they're not secluded for life in a top secret facility and studied for the rest of their lives. Oh, the possibilities!

Love the plot twist! I can see the subsequent chapters now: Luisa, in high heels and lipstick, strutting her stuff in the rebel camp, all the while plotting her revenge. Maybe she even gets a little too good at being a woman, to the point where she starts questioning whose side she's really on? 😉💅

I wish my writing speed would catch up to my imagination, but alas, while the imagination works quickly and in high gear, the ongoing pain of recovering from knee replacement surgery makes it a bit difficult to focus long enough to write. And I have 3 good story lines in my brain just waiting to be liberated! Alas, I'll have to keep on therapy and read your wonderful stories / captions to keep my imagination afire - which is easy given the quality of your stories!
