Update

Hey guys, just wanted to give you an update on the progress I’ve been making recently. The two shots I’ve mainly been focusing on are the Pharah missionary scene and the climax scene.

The Pharah missionary shot actually ended up being pretty straightforward. Once I got Zarya’s thrust motion feeling right, everything else started falling into place pretty naturally after that.

As for the train scene, that one was a completely different story. After an absolutely ridiculous amount of experimenting, I finally managed to get a result I’m pretty happy with for the climax shot. This was only my second time ever doing a train scene, and my first time attempting a climax scene, so it was definitely outside of my comfort zone. It honestly took me around 6 days just to get something this basic working properly.

To be fair though, a lot of that time was me fighting against my completely destroyed sleep schedule, which I’m definitely gonna have to fix soon.

For the fluids, I’ve teamed up with my boi Morfium to help push the look as far as possible and really make these shots come together.

All in all, the only things left on the animation side are the intro shot and the peeking sequence. The intro shot is definitely gonna take the most brain power, but I’ve already started piecing together in my head how I want to animate it.

Once I do a couple more render tests for the fluid and make sure everything’s looking good, I’m probably gonna put this project on pause for a bit and work on more stuff for the Zarya x Pharah After Hours mini-series we’ve got going.

So keep an eye out for that over the next few weeks.
