I have a few questions for Jack if you get chance to ask... I know you'll have a lot to get through though, so no worries if you can't cover it. 1) On the song "Call Me After Midnight"... the piano sound. I'd love to know more about that specific sound, whether it's a heavily processed / effected acoustic piano, or a synth of some kind? 2) I'd love to explore the drum sounds on the new album. I know when they play live they have two drummers for many of the songs... is that a premise that carries over to the album? Layering multiple different sounding kits playing different parts etc? 3) I know Jack is a big fan of older instruments, particularly synths like the Juno 6. Are there any modern synths / instruments currently in production that he's impressed by?

I'd also be really interested, as Jack seems to be an incredibly collaborative producer / songwriter / artist, of how important a consistent workflow is to his daily work... In terms of tools and systems he works in. For example, with a dozen DAWs available to producers, and everyone owning different plugins and virtual instruments... how important is it to him that his collaborators are all working in Pro Tools, with a common set of tools? I'm always interested in workflow, and the speed that Jack appears to work at is really impressive... I can only assume it's partly because it's a fine tuned workflow?

As a producer, how much time does Jack spend editing & tuning vocals versus passing this work off to others in the session or the mixing engineer?

Tips for getting good guitar tones? Favorite pedals, settings, mics, etc. Tips on getting interesting keys sounds? Favorite synths, plugins etc.

Ignatius De Pedro

(1) Does Jack have any advice for producers starting out? How do you make the step from someone who just produces their own music in their bedroom to a producer who makes music with other musicians in the studio in a professional setting? (2) Does Jack have any songwriting tips and tricks in his toolbox that he reaches for often? For example, are there certain chord progressions he uses often, or ways he approaches writing melodies?

Ignasi Taltavull

Does he have a different approach on production when he's producing his own songs versus the songs he produces for other artists?

I see similar questions to mine, which is pretty great. This is why I dig this community so much. We all may have different goals and styles, but we're all looking for ways to advance our music.

Question: What is your approach to getting wider mixes? Lots of mono hard -pans? Delays? Thanks! Love your music!

Amanda Johnson

Hey Jack, love your work! How has working almost completely out the box changed your approach to making music? Any advice to producers who are looking to move more out of the box and into the world of hardware and analog gear? Most people seems to think it's increasingly counterintuitive these days.

Whens the episode out?
