Christopher

When you guys are writing and recording, do you ever find it difficult to ensure you can replicate the songs to perform so well live? The layers in your ambience and grooves are fantastic.

Matteo HL

Many of your songs have vocals but no features. Are they all samples or do you also record vocals and then sample them? Listen to your music since Truths EP 🙏

Jelle Deruyter

I’ve been wanting to ask this for ages, but whats the sound design behind the intro piano/electric piano on the track Manilla. Which distortion is on there?

Enamour

Hey, Enamour here. such a big fan since 2012. glad you're bringing them on! a couple qs: 1. there's a texture you guys often use on vocals (maybe guitars too?), sort of a pitch and formant shifting combo but it sounds so clean and artifact-free--was curious what you use for that (e.g. in Rituals, Wallflower, Glasshouses, many more). is it hardware perhaps? 2. would love to know more about your process of layering. There seems to be a really nice mix of samples, live instrumentation and interesting synth processing/DAW editing. Also you seem to be using a lot more live instrumentation as your career has progressed. Curious at what point in the production/writing process you're adding secondary layers, orchestration, string sections, etc. to your arrangements and are you writing those parts or just bringing in musicians to improvise? 3. Can I remix something on the new album? 😂

David Schulze

How did you come about your unique sound and style? Were there specific (artist or other) influences or production techniques that shaped you? Was there a moment you realized you had a signature sound? Does that ground you (“we always start here”) or make it challenging to evolve as artists?

David Schulze

“Blue Sunday” is such a great track.

Ben Blackadder

some good ones here I hope: 1. Ear candy and intricate melodic details seems to have always been a key element in MB tunes. I love the way you create little call and responses between things and fill in gaps in the melody with these little details. How do you approach this? Is it trialing little bits you've recorded and seeing what works or do you have an explicit idea for it beforehand? 2. I read once about you attached field recordings to your recordings with a gate to give them a sampled flavour. Do you still do this? And have you developed any more similar techniques? 3. How has your process evolved since the first 2 albums - are you still doing things the same way or have you developed new techniques? 4. I'd love to learn about FX chains. How were you recording and processing the piano on tracks like Midas to get that sound?

Cem-Levin

- How do you typically approach creating a song? Do you usually start with a specific element, like a chords, melody or rhythm, and how does the track evolve from there? - How often do you make music? Do you dedicate time to it every day, or do you allow yourself breaks, especially during uninspired phases? - When facing creative blocks, how do you find new inspiration to get back into the flow? - Do you believe in the idea of creating music every day, even if most of it might not turn out great, to eventually reach those 1% of outstanding tracks? - How long did it take you to develop the signature sound you have today, and how has it evolved over time? - How do you create your sounds? If you use virtual instruments, what are some of your favorites, and which effects or tools, concepts have been most helpful in shaping your sound? - Where do you draw your inspiration from? What advice would you give to someone looking to stay inspired and create consistently?

Ruslan Bulatov

What kind of instruments and synths you use to produce your unique style? How you developed your style?

Aza.B

Hey 🙌 ive had to relearn 15 years worth of musical knowledge after a brain injury from an accident, currently trying to make an album whilst in recovery, do you guys have any tips for staying calm and consistent whilst making music without rushing everything ? 😂🙌 🙏

Jack

Musical! The guitar playing!, Vocal edits, and the synths in like wallflower.

Tim Adam-Smith

Thanks! We have recorded this episode now but hope you enjoy when it drops in a few weeks!
