How did Daniel begin/learn how to produce music? E.g Which softwares and programmes did he use?

Mathis Carion

Hi Hayley and Daniel! First off, huge congratulations on the new collection of singles — the lyrics are so sharp, honest, and vivid, and the sonic palette lifts every track in a perfect way. I was wondering: were there any particular instruments, bits of gear, films, places, or even specific feelings or experiences that had a big influence on the songwriting? And is there any little songwriting or production detail you’re especially proud of and can let us in on? Thanks a lot, and please come to Italy soon!

Brandon Wells

theres a lot of different musical influences between all the projects you've been involved in. how do you know when you've landed in the right direction as to the production/arrangement/style of a song? do you ever get stuck with indecision?

Matt Pezé

Hi Hayley ! Your stage presence is incredibly physical — almost like choreography — yet your vocals stay sharp and controlled. How do you balance that intensity without compromising your voice? So much of your performance feels raw and spontaneous, but also visually impactful and precise. Are there moments you intentionally craft to heighten that emotional or visual effect, or does it all just flow naturally once you're on stage ?

DoubleDoubleYea

With all the years of singing, recording, touring, and rehearsing, how have you kept your voice healthy? Do you have a specific vocal or throat care routine you credit for still performing at such a high level? Thank you!

Josh Chambers

I’m loving the new tracks. How has your lyric-writing process evolved as you’ve gotten older, and where do you draw from for your lyrics these days compared to earlier years?

Ben Thrasher

It's so inspiring how After Laughter sounds both different and true to your sound. Can you talk about what factors lead to this sound, and if you'll ever revisit it?

Keifer

How do you decide which ideas become Paramore songs and which ones stay as Hayley Williams solo projects? How do you tell them apart from all the other creative musical ideas you come up with?

Danny

hey hey Hayley: I heard you mentioning journaling as a way of dealing with stress. Has this been your primary form of self-care throughout your whole career and are you pen and paper?

Danny

Hey Hey Hayley. You're one of the few artists who debuted when I was in high school who's still kicking ass and making new music. You seem to remain very relatable despite being a rockstar most of your life; simultaneously reinventing yourself but still remaining authentic. How do you approach writing with a fanbase so diverse in age? The openness you expressed in Glum hit really hard as someone having similar sentiments. Also, I can't wait to see what you all have planned for the 20th anniversary of Riot! I'll be crying buckets and saying "I was there!"

Danilzao

do you ever get demo-itis? in a genre that doesn't need too much polish, what is your sign that a track is done?

Will Kingstone

Can she come onto Elevator Music too???

Vicente Sanfuentes

Why do you guys like working with each other? Is it because you have similar tastes or you lile the same music? I like how the music you made seems to me it starts from a very organic point of you guys playing. How do you finish the song without leaving that organic and first emotion of the start? Hailey how was your journey discovering your voice? It feels like a very mature voice and you have total control over it even if you are not thinking about it

hey hayley, daniel & tape notes team, the latest release is a 17-track all-singles release, how/why did it come up as such and not as a whole project/album ? 2nd question for hayley, how do you like to collaborate with producers/musicians ? do you have an idea of how you'd want your songs to sound before working with them or is it a more spontaneous collaboration once you've chosen your producer ? how much does the final result fit your demos ? thank you !!

-how often do you write songs before having any music to them and vice versa? do you find yourself always using an instrument to help write, or is it a lot of times songs written first and then music 2nd. chords first lyrics 2nd, i'd guess it's a big mix of all of that, but i'd love to hear about some of that process. -some of the songs that took the longest to finish or the ones that came and were done in a few hours. -coolest/strangest place you've written a song/recorded a song? -favorite artists you are listening to this week?

Benjamin Sihler

This is exciting! I love the production on these singles, soon-to-be-an-album. Two examples: I love the vocal production and mixing choices. It feels free from any desire to show off, the vocals just serve the message of the song. I love that some of the biggest vocal moments happen in the background like in true believer! I also love the droning synths throughout. Scratches my brain just the right way. So, three questions: -How did the Chorus from "Bad Touch" make it into a song and where did the inspiration come from to reframe it as a song about fighting instead of... you know? -Where did the vocal pitch in "Glum" come from, and is there a deeper meaning? (also fantastic song and gutwrenchingly beautiful music video) -With all the pop culture references in the songs, you must have thought of the finding nemo seagulls in Zissou? "mine, mine, mine, mine..." (I love it) Bonus question: when will hayley finally accept my request for the edaapb insta? Criminal move to make that private without asking me first. Thank you for your consideration. Thanks for this opportunity, this collection of songs is some of my favourite music ever put out! Congratulations to HW, Daniel and the whole team! Benjamin

Hayley! You've written about how songwriting is a little like projectile vomming and then showing everyone😂 how do you navigate that type of vulnerability? Daniel! When it came to creating your own playlist for the 17 singles, were you driven by lyrical storytelling, or when you were producing, did you already have in the back of your mind how these individual songs could speak to each other sonically?

Mallory Gallegos

Hayley, Any chance you'll start accepting follow requests on the EDAABP IG account? I was following when it was the PFA account and then went on a massive unfollowing spree to clear out some cobwebs in my brain about a year ago and now I'm shunned. :( At any rate, are there any other movie references in songs you've written that we the fans haven't caught onto yet that you'd like to let us in on?

Tim Adam-Smith

Thanks for the questions! We can't ask the first but we'll add the second to our list for the show and see how many we get through!
