Do you feel that being related and having grown up surrounded by the same timbres in any way impacts your approach to harmonising, is it very natural? Is it different when you create harmonies or BV's with other people? In what way? For each of you, is there one track you love (of anyone's) for the harmonies?

Matt Kelland

“FUBT” on the From Women In Music Pt 3 album does a mesmerizing job of blending traditional instrumentation with an outro that seemingly combines all forms. How and when do you decide to mix in digital drums and sounds in your writing and recording? Thanks

Angel Medrano

Friends of mine have been discussing the possibility of cryptic encoded messages in the songs of various musical artists. Is this something that HAIM has ever done?

William Card

hello! I attended your live show at New York’s MSG, and my girl friend and I agree that "Cry" was an absolute standout from the live show. I wanted to ask two parts of how that song came together. The vocal stacks during the choral layers each voice so dynamically that each timbre shimmers, but doesn't overshadow the main voice. Would love to hear if there was any science or mystery to that! The second part is that snare drum! The sound is dry, but with just enough slap to fill the backbeat. Hearing it made me reminisce how you came on this very show during WIMP3 to describe the process of recording Gasoline (another song where the snare sound could be in the hall of fame). How did you get the percussion to come together?

I loved the drum sound in general in I Quit. What drum kits did you use? Specifically kicks and snares. Thanks.

Philipp Kaminsky

First of all: thank you so much for your outstanding music. Which parts in the process of writing and producing songs or a whole album do you individually enjoy the most? And did you start the production of the album with a certain vision or did you fill a blank page driven by the process and going with the flow?

Chi Thanh

how did moving to berlin and the local electronic scene influence you in your creative process and do you have a favorite DJ or club in berlin?

Black Bear (Sam Beebe)

As a musical parent to a musical child, I would love to hear: what were the most inspirational things that your parents did for you that helped set you on your path?

Tim Adam-Smith

Thanks for the question! We actually recorded this episode earlier in the week - hope you enjoy!
