How are you thinking about the structure of a song as you are writing and producing it?

Nico Kay

How do you organise your sample libraries? For example drums, do you keep a drive with lots of different libraries, or do you search and select new for every project? Any tips how to organise files efficiently?

TENHAT

When do you personally feel that a song is finished? In the song 1UL, the sound design evolved a lot after the initial demo, especially with the addition of a new vocalist. How does the finishing process look like and when do you decide that a song is actually finished?

Tara Pasveer

How do you approach adding ear candy? I really liked that on Mix With The Masters you showed that you edited these very creative delays, sweeps and reverb throws for the vocals on Caroline Polachek’s “Fly To You.” They are very unpredictable, yet they work perfectly. How would you go about something like this? Do you experiment freely until you find something that works? Or do you have quite specific ideas for it? Greetings from a fellow Goldsmiths alum :)

How big role does Logic Pro play for you?

UnsungFrequency

1. The hows, whys and whens of pitch-sliding sine waves? 2. Do you use concepts from music theory and music production to figure out ways to blend the feelings of classical and electronic, or, is the creative process itself more intuition- and feelings-based?

_ADDIS x Johannes Creuzberg

Hi Danny, I’m curious about your technical approach to remixing or re-imagining a track so the aesthetic shifts entirely but the song remains identifiable. When you start a remix, do you follow a particular order (tempo/key decisions, reharmonization, rhythmic restructuring, sound design first, etc.)? How do you technically decide which stems to anchor the remix and which to deconstruct or replace while preserving the song’s core identity?
