When you’re creating a song, how do you know when an idea is worth pursuing and when it’s time to let it go? Is there a moment where you choose to trust your instincts instead of trying to make something “perfect”?

Emilio Tercero

Omg, Denzel is one of my favorite rappers. Thanks for getting him on the podcast!

This one is for Denzel: Do you have any writing tips or advice you would give? And what’s the secret to getting a double tempo flow? Love your music, hi from Mexico! Hope to go to the show on November.

David Luhr

For Denzel: What was your writing and recording process for this album? Did it differ from other projects? For Kenny: What inspired the choice to stick with the SP-404 for the project? Was it having creative freedom within the constraints? Were you pursuing a nostalgic sound?

David Luhr

What are some surprising or breakthrough moments on the project, like something unexpected suddenly coming together?

Trixie Loeb

what are the pros and cons of gatekeeping technique and equipment?

E10

Have other forms of art (film, anime, tv, paintings, etc.) ever directly influenced or inspired a track/album?

journals. (matt weix)

For Kenneth: how has your process working in hip hop changed since working with so many bands lately? Do you find yourself reaching for instruments more and more to play in the parts? Curious on the hybrid approach of live instrumentation and sampling and how they go hand in hand!

Noah Bührer

Was there ever a point in time where you had a kind of "I made it" moment? A single moment, like on a big stage or in the studio with another artist you cherished for years, a moment where it was so clear that your hard work has finally paid off and people wholeheartedly understand your identity, your vision and your sound. If yes, what was that moment like and what do you feel now when you look back? Much love and many thanks from Switzerland, huge fan of of your collaborations with Denzel and I hope you keep on crossing boundaries together.

Hopefully I’m not too late here! This is a huge unexpected pull!! Kenneth—Can you please elaborate more on the point of not wanting to reveal too much game (BTS knowledge, workflows, mix chains, composition tips, etc.) while balancing being on a show like this? I’m a little confused and some clarification would be nice. Denzel—With the stacked discography that you (both!) have, what’s usually the common factor for what inspires the next project? All your projects feel distinct from each other, so I’m curious how you navigate that transition between the “moods” of each project. Huge fans of all three of you!! Can’t wait to see this when it goes up!

Ross Gilmartin

came here to say this - Kenny went online to discourage people from revealing the process and then goes on Tape Notes 3 times - also would love to know where he stands on this!
