When producing do you guys have an idea on what functions/pieces you need to make the full productions? Like "we need a beat, a bass, a lead, a musical motif etc etc"?

how do the chord ideas come to howard? do find them when improvising on a piano in your own time or do they come to you in the studio?

How have you guys honed your skills over the years when it comes to the sheer amount of ear candy and evolutions each track seems to take on? I’ve never heard a Disclosure track that felt stale but this new album literally feels like a display of hard work, passion, and pulling out every stop to make the best tracks humanly possible. This is your best work yet and you two are an inspiration for us all.

With this most recent release, we see the boys explore a new soundscape familiar to the UK rave scene. Similar to what I’m experiencing as a DJ in Sydney, Australia - the underground was a place of liberation amongst the recent restrictions. I would love to ask them to share their approach to introducing their favourite sounds into their albums. Was there a strategy introducing more niche genres into the mainstream? How was it personally impacted by a major record label vs now.
