Developer Log #17: Ship Builder (Patreon)

Hello everyone!

Last month I included the Developer Log on the Monthly Report, even though I thought at the time that it was a great idea later on I changed my mind. The Monthly Report became too big and probably would mess up the progress of this project.

To make things right I decided to return to the Developer Log and add a link to this post on the Monthly report, this way anyone interested in checking out the progress could come to this post.

Progress of this month:

This month I focused on the Engines that will keep this Skyship floating.

Lower Engines:

I don't know how these Engines will connect to the Ship, I will leave this for later. For now, I want to keep working on the sculpture and not focus too much on the connection and assembly. For the Engines the only thing I know for sure is that I want to make a version of the boat without them, you might be interested in making a standard ship not a Skyship.

Planned for August 2024:

Finish the Tip part of the ship

I will focus the effort on making the frontmost part of the Ship from the top to the hull

With the August sculpture done, it should be possible to start cutting and splitting the model and make the assembly for the tip to the end of the mid-section of the Ship.

Deadlines

To move forward and keep track of things I have decided to implement deadlines. This will help me focus on the project and push on. A reminder that this project will not be a Kickstarter anymore.

Due to the reduction of scope, I can set myself a reasonable deadline. Let's check them out:

June 7th: Reorganization of files and folders - Done

June 14th: Eagle - Done

June 28th: Engines - Done

August 2024 Sculpt (Front and mid-deck)

August 2024 Sculpt (Front and mid Hull)

September 2024 Sculpt (Back part of Main Deck)

October 2024 Sculpt (Back Hull)

December 2024 Back part

January 2025 Model split (Front and mid)

January 2025 Support & TestPrint (Front and mid)

February 2025 Model split (Back Part)

February 2025 Support & TestPrint (Back Part)

March 2025 Finished assembly

June 2025: Skyship release as Imagine Minis 4 years miniature, available to all Patreons, Tribers. This miniature then be added as the first 9 month Loyalty reward.

Even though this miniature will no longer be a Kickstarter, I will still maintain it on the previously released posts and folder structure.
