Hello everyone!

You might be asking what's happening and why I'm not posting for a while... before you ask. Yes, I'm alive, don't worry.

Let's start with a follow-up on what's directly related to this month's production:

  • The Printer X The FarmHouse

I might have exaggerated a bit on the FarmHouse. When I started, I had a vision, and during the development, I deviated a bit (IMO it was an improvement). The house ended up slightly bigger than I was planning to make. I wanted something simple.

The House was finished on time, and it was time to check the printer. I had a bit of Gray from Anycubic ABS-like, and 2 bottles of Beige from Sun-Lu. I decided to print the House on Sun-lu ABS(This would allow the miniature to look the same from start to end). The resin was new and had to be calibrated. The calibration took me about half a day, but I found the right spot... except it was not. While printing the house, I was having failure after failure, even though I had redone the supports many times. I decided to blame the resin calibration, added 0.1s to the exposure, and a lower speed lift... that did the trick.

The printing of the house was slow (0.03mm layer), and adding the failures, it took a really long time. But the house is done. I'm still waiting for the final piece to cure, so I can glue it with the rest. The house is somewhat modular and will allow you to have a bit of creativity. I still regret a few of my choices during the assembly, but I'm happy with how it turned out.

I expect to release the Farmhouse Tomorrow

  • Farmers

Yeah, about that... I forgot to post WIP on Patreon, but in my defence, I did it on Discord (less bureaucracy there, I just type and press enter, boom done). While searching for reference, I found Sardean (I "Hope" you get the reference)... and I got a bit carried away... I made him, his wife, and their daughter... I did them, but I kept making a bit more. So I made a Neighbor and his wife, and also a new pose for the daughter showing her true colors (and under the skirt, as optional of course). These guys are printed, except the Sardean. I had a failure while printing, so I need to reprint. I expect to release all of them tomorrow.

  • Fence

Will not be released. The way I was imagining that it would work does not look good on a table.

  • Welcome Pack

Next month I will be doing 4 years of Imagine Minis, this is a lot. Unfortunately, I won't be doing anything big. While I was searching to make something different for the Welcome Pack (an unreleased miniature), someone asked me if I had sculped the XXXXXX, after checking... I thought, hmm, it's about time I make one... I haven't started yet, but I will start sculpting as soon as I release this month's miniatures, which will be available next month in the welcome pack to both Tribes and Patreon. So look forward to the XXXXXX. Hahaha, speaking XXXXX for the name of the miniature makes it look so mysterious ^^.

  • Administrative work 1

Due to a money shortage, I cancelled my subscription to OneDrive last month. This night I received an e-mail telling me they will delete all my stuff and return to 5GB if I don't subscribe back. To avoid this deletion of old models, I'm doing a manual download of the files and making a backup to an external HD. I will probably spend most of my day doing this kind of work, this task is a priority that I must finish in time.

For future works, I will be using Google Drive 15GB as temporary file storage and an External HD for old files backup.

  • Administrative work 2

This month is also the last month for Brazilian people to deliver their fiscal information to the Government. I will take a day in the following week/weekend to send them this data.

Sun-lu feedback

First of all, I'm not being sponsored by Sun-lu. I wish I was, if they read this by any chance.

I was afraid of buying Sun-lu resin because I worried the miniatures would break easily, and I was happy with Anycubic ABS like. However, for some unexpected reasons, Anycubic resin price here in Brazil got expensive to a point I asked myself, Is it even worth it? I decided to try Sun-lu resin because the price was really good, to the point that if I bought 3 Sun-lu, it would be the same as 2 Anycubic (in one bottle listings, the difference was even more apparent in bigger packs). So I bought a 2 kg pack to try.

The package arrived, and I tried as mentioned before. The resin has a lot of flexibility, and has not been compared to Anycubic, but I'm happy with the amount of bending and the price. I just bought a 5kg Pack, it was R$ 104 per bottle compared to Anycubic R$ 200 per bottle. I'm not saying you will be happy if you trade your resin. I'm just telling my experience as a user. If you are worried about costs, I would recommend that you try.

Sorry for the long post, but I thought it was a lot to talk about.

Best regards,

Ivo

Hidebound

I've been using Sunlu for awhile now, and it's been a good resin for me. Solid, but a bit flexible so the thin bits don't snap too easily.
