Hello everyone!

Last year, Patreon reached out to all content creators to change their billing cycle. I organized my release schedule and waited for the change; however, nothing happened.

This year, I got the same message; this time I believe it's for real.

How it works

After subscribing, you are charged for the selected tier. In the following month, you are then charged again at the beginning of the month. After the payment has been processed, the rewards are then delivered.

This ensures that everyone (with valid payment) receives the miniatures at the beginning of the month.

How it's going to work

After subscribing, you are charged normally. In the following month, you are charged again only on the date that your subscription completed 1 month.

This means that you will receive miniatures only when your payment is being processed. Example: You subscribed on the 15th; you will receive October on the 15th, and the November releases only on the 15th.

You might be wondering, "Do I need to wait?" Unfortunately, yes. As a content creator, there is no guarantee that the payment will go through, so I cannot deliver the miniature until then.

Why the change

To my knowledge, it's because of some Apple Store rules. They made this change so that Patreon can charge on the Apple platform.

Instead of giving the option to the creators, they impose this on everyone.

What are your options?

A - Do nothing.

If you are an old subscriber, most likely you will have the charge date set to the 1st day of the month. If you are new, you will need to wait until the billing cycle is renewed for you to receive the miniatures (I'm not sure, but I hope there might be a way to set a specific date).

B - Go to Tribes

If you don't want to deal with the delay, your best chance is to go to MyMiniFactory and subscribe as a Triber. Just make sure to unsubscribe from Patreon and wait for the next month's releases to subscribe on Tribes. If you do subscribe this month, you will receive the same miniatures.

What is my opinion

This change is a complete waste of my time and a disservice to every subscriber. In our miniature hobby most of long date susbcribers would like to receive miniatures as soon as they are available. Adding this unnecessary delay is not fair.

I would like to point out to subscribers to avoid the following dates: 28th, 29th, 30th, and 31st. I don't know how the system will work, but let's say that you are charged on the 31st; in a month that does not have a 31st, I don't know if it will charge you on the 1st or the 30th. Meaning that you have the chance of skipping a month. Just to be clear, this is not how the system is going to work. The truth is, I don't know, but this is one of my concerns.

Final Words

Sorry for the long text, but I wanted to be clear and make sure that everyone knows what will happen in November. If they delay this change again, I won't mind.
