Patron Commission June 2023 - The Ogre Mage (WIP) (Patreon)
Content
Hello everyone!
Update July 5th
This is the last update, I have finished adding details to the armor pieces and the heads. I also made the Fiery Eye to complement the table.
Today I will pose this miniature and if things go according to plan, I will print these guys today.
Update July 4th
Made the body a bit larger (barely noticeable), and did that in order to better accommodate the 2 heads. Blocked the heads and some armor pieces.
Today I will block the remaining armor pieces and refine them.
I have decided not to add the tattoos as part of the model, the reason for that is if you don't wish to make the one requested, it can easily pass for another ogre magi.
Update July 3rd
I added a bit more detail to the body and fixed some proportions. I also added a quick block out of cloth to give it a bit of personality.
I'm not happy with the neck/spine region, I will redo that part. Since he is fat I decided to add on the back but I might have exaggerated, and I will probably reduce a bit.
Since this is a Large miniature and he will have his toes showing I will split those and add more details to them.
I will keep refining the body for today.
---End of Update---
I started working blocking out the shapes and defining the size and proportions for this big guy. Instead of grabbing some legs and arms already done I wanted to start fresh on this miniature. As you can see there is not much to see but this is a part of the process.
This guy should have a equivalent to 3,60 meters tall in 32mm scale, so far, I think he will go well in a 50.8mm round base as a Large D&D miniature.
Regarding his anatomy I started blocking a single head ogre, that's the easiest that I could find reference. I was thinking on making this body as a asset in case we have an ogre theme somewhere in time, but at some point I will have to split. This will happen because since there are 2 heads, that means 2 neck and 2 spines (or at least a "Y" shape), I know there's too much fat there but some of it should be noticeable, I will see when I get in this part. For now I need to add more geometry in, and adjust to give it a better shape.
I will keep updating this post as I progress in the sculpting process.
Best regards,
Ivo
