Weekly Developer Log #9: Ship Builder Kickstarter (Patreon)
Content
Hello everyone!
Patreon just changed the structure of some posts, to make things faster for everyone to locate the posts I have grouped everything related to the Sky Ship Builder Kickstarter under the collection Collection | Patreon. If you missed any previous content, just in case you are curious to see how it evolved into what it is.
Even though I like Duchmogul 32mm scale model as a reference, I decided to change to the Old Knight.
Starting from last week I have opened all Ship Builder developer logs so that everyone could have access and those who are interested could follow the project until the final release.
What I did from last time?
I added a cabin structure on the back, from my example, there are 3 levels on the back part of the build. I changed a bit the layout from the reference so that I could add a bit of modularity but everything is there in essence.
Of course, this is not final and things may shift a bit when I start to add details. To block volumes I'm using planes.
Modularity
So far there are already 3 modular parts without me thinking of redoing some parts.
These are:
Ship length - middle section
Ship length - back section
Top deck - Removal of stairs, Removal of topmost part, length
What's next?
For the next developer log, I will start replacing floor tiles that I already did previously. This will give me volume so I can start moving pieces around.
I will probably shift the cabin a tile forward so that the stairs don't overlap the guard rails.
My total time invested in this project: is 30 hours
Best regards,
Ivo
