On Anzac Day of 1999, life partners Keith Hibbins and David Campbell were walking through the Fitzroy Gardens in Melbourne when they were approached by two agitated young men, John Whiteside and Kristian Dieber. The young men claimed they were on the lookout for a pair of rapists who had just sexually assaulted a young woman nearby, but were they telling the truth?

This was Premium Episode #27, released in June 2024. It is not new content, it is the same episode, but as Premium episodes are now going to be released on the main feed months after their initial Patreon release, we had to repost it so that all episodes can keep the same numbering on the main feed and the Patreon feed.

Suicide Sauce

Me: god, that's awful My Brain: he sure did say "olive oil" real funny

Suicide Sauce

That's the problem with carceral systems: there is no "punishment" that could make up for, or undo what happened. What do we do-- Throw them in prison for ever and ever? Beat them up and give them brain damage? Who does that save, after the fact? Not Keith. Do you throw that woman in jail for lying while intoxicated and hysterical? For how long? For ever and ever, for a result that she couldn't have possibly foreseen? Who does that save? You keep pulling at the thread of blame and like that dumb song from the 2000s you eventually just destroy the whole sweater. Keep going back far enough and you arrive at "if Australia had never been used as a penal colony, none of this would have happened in the first place."

“Yo, we already listened to this episode! I want to speak to the manager because I’ve been paying $5 a month for so many months and I still don’t understand that you rerelease these premium episodes in the normal feed!!” (Joke)
