Hi everyone,

It’s time to get ready for another episode of BTF and our Q&A. We’ll be recording a little earlier than usual this time. Case 328 hasn’t dropped on the main feed just yet (it’s coming this weekend), but it has been available for a little while as a premium episode.

For this recording we’ll be chatting about:

  • Case 325: The Gilham Family

  • Case 326: Cooper Harris

  • Case 327: Rodrigo Rosenberg Marzano

  • Case 328: Kirsty Jones

If you’ve got any questions about these cases, or anything more general you’d like to ask the team, pop them in the comments below.

I was relistening to Case 77: Mia Zapata recently and was thinking it'd be cool to hear a few other music related crimes. As a fan of both artists I'd love to hear the unsolved murders of Tupac Shakur and the Notorious B.I.G given the Casefile treatment. Both crimes still seem eminently solvable, but there are a lot of twists and turns - due to the fame and notoriety of the two victims, off duty police officers working as security, and adjacent gang related violence - that caused the crimes to remain official unsolved.

Case 326: Cooper Harris Why didn't the daycare call either parent or any of the people on the emergency contact list to inquire why Cooper hadn't been dropped off at daycare? By 2014 this would have been a well established safety protocol already in use for decades. Was the daycare ever held to any responsibility?

Hello guys. Just letting you know demi v is the original demi..but I'm a bigger fan 😉 I saw a game at the shop recently and saw it was casfile I had to double take, how did that come about? Was it your idea? Can we expect any more in the future? Thanks 👍🏻

Connor Z

For case 328, have they ever thought about or attempted using ancestry sites to find the culprit?

Demi V

For the Gilham family, I know Elsha is a chronic fence-sitter and never knows which side of these cases she falls on BUT do you think, beyond Jeff coming out and saying he did it or the uncle saying he made it all up and Jeff's totally innocent, there's anything that could sway you to one of the camps?

Michael Brodie

We're you shocked by the level of prejudicial evidence admitted in the Cooper Harris trial?

Just a fun question to lighten up the usual case-related questions: Sometimes, just before convicted criminals are executed, they are given a last meal at their request. I was wondering what the casefile team would request for their last meal! For me, I reckon it would have to be my Mum's macaroni and cheese recipe, a chicken Parma with mashed potato and salad, a glass of chocolate milk, a wheel of French camembert and a mango. Would love to hear what you guys would ask for!

Paddy Murphy

Hi just wondering if you had cases lined up involving the Encrochat hack. The English Channel 4 done a really good 4 part on it. Just shone a light in a crazy world we really know so little about.

Linde

I wonder this as well. Why didn’t the daycare call either parent? Isn’t that their due diligence to call them when a child doesn’t show up? So much hurt could have been avoided if the daycare would’ve called, even just to be sure that Cooper wasn’t supposed to be in

Ross Wilson

Hi. I recently watched a documentary regarding the Abigail Williams and Liberty German case (Casefile episode 119) which was unsolved when published in 2019 but has now been solved. Are there any plans for update episodes on this case or any other solved cases in future? Thanks. (Apologies if this has been mentioned/answered recently)

Linde

For the Gilham Family, do you think that Jeff’s version of events is plausible?

Da Guru Bro

I really loved the Silk Road case, there are so many modern day tech related crimes and cases in the modern world we live in. I was more thinking of things like, FTX , Sony hack, Stuxnet. Some of the cyber gangs themselves could make some good episodes, even if only for patreon picks episodes. They I expect they wouldn't be for everyone as they are not the traditional "True Crime" but would make for some very good episodes and be used to break up a run of tougher cases, as most are unlikely to involve a death or crimes to minors. When you dig into the details of many of these cases, the are some large long lasting affects and impacts to the victims of these crimes. I would like to put my vote in for the team investigating and hopefully adding some cases in this realm to the whiteboard for 2026 if possible.

Lol I like randomly bringing up this question during social settings to see what other people respond. I know this question is directed towards the hosts so please feel free to delete or ignore. But what i would like to have is a good piece of simple bruschetta with Lots of garlic, then a good piece of juicy lamb with fries, mayonaise and fresh salad. For dessert a cheese platter pistachio ice cream and washing it all down with a six pack of lukewarm beer to cope with being excecuted after.

Ruben Swanepoel

That's awesome! I was hoping someone would reply with their own last meal request! Thanks

Hi, apologies for the delay, just wanted to shout out Mike - he's literally so different to what I pictured in my head for him to look like, just a quick note to say that I am enjoying his YouTube videos and please, keep them coming. I'd love to see your take on the tin whistle in Men At Works "Down Under" and the Kookaburra song known by us Australian folk. I pictured the lead singer of System of A Down as what Mike Migas looked like, so funny... 🤦‍♀️🤣 I hope you're not offended by my view, but im horrified at myself if im honest.

Mr Chips

I want to let you all know I find your episodes of unsolved cases very engaging. If I may recommend you consider covering the 2011 unsolved murder of David Michael Grubbs, or the disappearance of 13-year old Bung Siriboon? Thank you.

Hi, I’d just like to say I appreciate all your hard work and really enjoy the Casefile podcast. I was wondering if when you’re recording and preparing the episodes do you find it hard to keep your emotions hidden and remain neutral? Some of the cases are obviously extremely graphic and you’re reporting on some very evil people.

Michelle K

One of the things I love about Casefile is bringing to attention a lot of unknown cases, in particular Australian cases. There is so many I had never heard of before, even in passing. Just wondering how the team come across a lot of these cases? And are you more drawn to them because they are less well known?

Ruben Swanepoel

I also like randomly bringing up thos question; it's a good conversation starter!

Eline Mols

Your question got featured in the episode how cool!

Ruben Swanepoel

I know, that's awesome! Would have been great if they included your reply as well!!

Neither my child's 2 daycares or kinder has ever called if my son isn't there. I wish it was a thing, but it isn't where I live at least.
