Hi all. We are prepping to record the next instalment of Behind The Files and the general Q&A. The cases we will be covering are; Case 333 Dianne Babcock, Case 334 Nicole Meyer, Dassi Erlich & Elly Sapper, Case 335 Linda Brown and Case 336 Tyler Clementi. If you have any questions relating to these cases or any general questions, put them in the comments below.

Are you planning to do more New Zealand based cases next year? In fact, I don’t think we heard a NZ case in 2025 at all, sadly.

Hey guys, Tyler clemti question... do you guys this Dharun was punished appropriately? His case eventually got dropped. Personally I think he's a vile specimen who should be in jail for at least 10 years General quesion- whatever everyone's coffee order? Mine is iced hazelnut latte

No question or comment for this episode. Just wanted to say to the entire team that I hope you all have an extremely relaxing and enjoyable festive season and wish you all the very best for the new year. I cant wait to see what the Casefile team have planned for next year, as every year you have grown and improved from the years previous.

I need to start writing questions down when I listen to an episode. By the time these pop up I’ve forgotten them haha. I hope you guys have a lovely holiday season ☺️

Susan Rachel

Same. Maybe the team could start this post (or a placeholder post if they don't want to give away the names of the cases) at the beginning so we could post questions as we listen.

Susan Rachel

I have a question about Tyler Clementi. WTF?!!! What is WRONG with people? Ok, I guess that was two questions. Linda Brown - What a horrible situation. How do you think things really unfolded?

Would you ever do a Ned Kelly themed episode

Fiachra O Connell

Nothing to ask, just wanted to say thanks for the great episodes as always!

Hey Team, I listen to Casefile every night; I love your podcast and I'll keep supporting you on patreon while you're taking time off. General question: The casefile team is so rigid in producing thorough, detailed and quality episodes. Your series on Belanglo was outstanding. I would love to hear you make some episodes on some well known Australian crimes such as the Bega school girl murders or the granny killer. I think you would stand out - with your edge of detail and professionalism - among the many other podcasts that have covered these stories. Also, you did an amazing job of covering Hoddle Street and Port Arthur (especially with the taboo surrounding it - it was brave). Have you considered covering more mass shootings? Australia has had a few that have slipped into the background over the years like Queen Street and the Strathfield shopping centre; or even the Aromana massacre in New Zealand. It would be amazing to hear you cover these. Thanks so much CF team!!!

Ruben Swanepoel

I suggested they do an episode on the Aromana massacre in my question ;)

I honestly look back at the comments and see if there was something that jogs my memory if I can't register. If it helps! 😀

I'm noticing in a lot of cases where religious leaders abuse children, there seems to be a deference to religion regardless of what country they're in. Like, in a secular country like Israel (for episode 334), I kind of expect religion would play a role even in the legal proceedings but in Australia and the US that are supposed to be non-religious, it always surprises me. This goes back to episode 34 (the Catholic Mafia). When you're researching, do you ever come across this and think, wow, not again or is it more like confirmation bias because the ones that stick out are the Nicoles and Dassis and Ellys of the world?

Miajane

Ohhh I would LOVE this

First, just a comment to say thanks to the team for the excellent work you do, you’re always my favorite! Hope you all have a great holiday. General question for Casey: forgive me if this is silly or ignorant… in what format do you read when you record? A screen and scroll setup? Paper? Some podcast magic I know nothing about? :) thank you!

Yasmin Parker

Casey, I still remember the very first Casefile episode I listened to. It was the Toy Box. That was a long time ago and you were then and still now my favourite podcast. Im wondering if you look back now and can see how far you have come? Did you ever think at that point, or even earlier, that you would be where you are today? When you first started, did you have an end goal in mind. Of the cases that have been solved, what is your biggest victory for lack of a better word?

Paris89London

Most if not all of your episodes are told in a very serious nature/manner (which i love and do think helps me visualise and get into the story being told). However I wonder if you have ever considered doing an episode or another podcast in a more humorous manner? For example in the same way that mfm or small town murder do theirs?

Regarding case 334, I am wondering if the victims' parents or families have ever spoken out publicly, or if there is any information about their response to the situation? Also, I just want to say how much I have appreciated the quality of episodes this year. It can be challenging to find true crime content that is as well researched and written as Casefile, so kudos to the team. :)
