…I was going to say he probably left a clue in The presents if he thought something could happen to him.. lol but I see others here felt the same

Wow, I've never heard of this case before. I guess this answers the question I sent in for the next AMA about kiwi cases.

Would enjoy a further delve in to this case although I realise there’s probably not more info to go on! Absolutely bizarre and seemed like the police were quick to jump to conclusions and end their search!

Tom Kerr

Fascinating story. Bizarre. Almost prefer the stories where it finishes with no resolution!

Janine Botfield

So sad. Defo someone else involved in this one!

Many parallels here with something I went through with an old boyfriend. We didn’t know he was bipolar until he had a psychotic break. He ran away a couple of times, leaving everything behind, sometimes even his clothes. Once, I found him naked in the jail section of a charity hospital, too scared to talk for fear that God would kill us. It would have been so easy for him to have disappeared or been harmed; he was very lucky. Unfortunately, this man was in a dangerous area when he may have had a breakdown. My guess is that it was he who placed his things in the acid tank and that he was the man seen running. He probably fell into the estuary or one of the tanks that wasn’t searched. In the interim, he was probably frightened and hiding. My heart goes out to his family!

I wonder if there's a clue in the wrapped presents!!!
