Just a reminder, that the next Q&A will be with true crime author (and soon to be podcaster) Vikki Petraitis.

Whether it’s a question about how to become a true crime writer, a question regarding one of the cases she has written about also covered by Casefile (The Frankston serial killer, Russell Street Bombing, Beth Barnard), or anything else, write them in the comments below!

What is the process of writing a true crime novel? How do you research things in a factual way? What has been the oddest or weirdest thing you’ve come across for any of your cases while researching? (This one could go to both Vicki and the Casefile team)

Lisa O Connor

The Beth Barnard case is one of my Casefile favourites! Is it true that the book Vicki wrote about the crime is banned from being published on Phillip Island? What are your thoughts on the coroners report conclusion that Vivienne contributed to Beth's death? Some of the facts of the case are very strange and difficult to make full sense of! I wonder did Fergus have something to do with Viviennes death, in retribution for her part in Beth's death.

Vikki, Have you ever come across anything while researching a case that has furthered an investigation or changed what you though you knew about a case?

Hi all, not sure if this is a question for Vikki or Casey, but I’ll let you figure that out. Some podcasters (like Casey) have quit their day job to focus on podcasting, but I’m finding it hard to understand where the income comes from. In the case of Casefile the podcast seems to support more than just one full time income, where do these revenue streams come from and how lucrative are they? Thanks, keep up the awesome work, it’s much appreciated.

Hi Vikki! So looking forward to hearing you speak! Can I ask you to share your thoughts on the Beth Barnard Sensing Murder episode? I’m interested in what it was like to participate in the episode, and what you thought about the psychics’ theories? This case breaks my heart for both women involved, and the children.

Hi! What made you interested in writing true crime? How did you discover this was your passion? I'll have to listen to those cases again. What is the name of your podcast?
