In the days before they moved out, John and Andrea Woods received a letter. After reading it herself, Andrea showed it to John.  He disregarded it, crumpled the paper into a ball, and threw it in the trash. The letter had been signed by someone claiming to be “The Watcher.”

The watcher!!!!!!!!!

So I'm an architect and at my previous job I worked on a lot of historic renovations in residential neighborhoods in Washington DC. We had to do community presentations to get approval. Some of the people who show up to these are truly unhinged and are completely obsessed with a house they don't even live in. My theory is that the watcher is one of these types of people who thinks the new family doesn't belong for some reason to another.

Wow. 😳 This is one of the creepiest stories I have ever heard! Those poor people. How awful to be terrorized like that and destroyed financially. I’m obsessed, I hope this person is found one day and held accountable. That’s just messed up.

hotbagels

well that was terrifying. awesome episode. sounds like the plot of a movie. no idea what I would do in that situation.

Haley

Yes! I’ve been listening to other podcasts during the break, but Casefile is #1 in my heart lol 🖤

John Stoeckel

Awesome. This took place the town over from where I used to live in Jersey. I followed this story so can’t wait to listen. Thanks!

Maya George

‘What the fuck is this?!’. Welcome back, Casey 🤣👍

Zachary

This was so creepy - I don't blame the family for never moving in to the house. It does make me wonder if there is a body in the walls somewhere as the Watcher seemed convinced they would find something while renovating.

Michelle Gray

Thank you very much for the new episode

hotbagels

The what the fuck is this should be clipped lol big laugh. But this seriously creeps me out, it’s so well done. Just the concept alone could keep you up at night. I wonder how much of what they said was true. A whole grandfathering in of watchers? Sounds like a 21st century Texas Chainsaw Massacre family or something. But they exist to protect this house. Fuck that.

Amber

How can Casey's voice be so comforting and so damn creepy at the same time 😂

Alli Schubert

That was great, like an old ghost story. It is titled mini sode 4, are there 3 others?

Laura

This episode was fucking awesome!!! I love Casefile storytelling and this was the perfect story for it! I can’t wait to listen again.

Captain Flint

This was great - look forward to more minisodes!

Tasha Adam

I. Am. Traumatised. By. This. Story 😱

Annie G

Young Blood 😱🤯

Patrick

I love the minisodes but find it interesting there was no mention of the "Friends of the Broaddus Family" letters that add a lot more to the idea that it was a PR stunt from the family.

Megan

Why did I listen to this while home alone?

Alexandra Peshcherenko

That was exactly what I needed… here in 🇷🇺 it’s the third work day after long weekend, still kind of have ptsd over it 😂 so calming to hear you

Jason Colombo

This really fucked with me. Don’t listen to if you have a tummy full of edibles 😬

Victor Garcia

This was good - text is not overdone and very catchy! Well done Terrifying case thou Yickes

Tayleh

Loved this style!

Julian DiLorenzo

Maybe they need to run a genealogy test on the letter DNA.

Neil A.

That is so scary!! Loved it!!!

hotbagels

this is seriously one i keep coming back to. something about it. to cause so much fear with just letters.
