As he got closer, a wave of horror washed over him. From inside the car, Dina became hysterical and screamed for her husband to get back in. Ron ran and leapt into the driver's seat, slamming the door behind him. He grasped the wheel and pressed his foot down on the accelerator. The couple sped off back down the driveway, leaving a cloud of dust in their wake.

Despite the case itself being well, gross. This was such a good episode and very respectful all things considered. Such a cracking final like to the episode. That sums it up so perfectly

Courtney Martin

I don’t know how I haven’t heard of this case before! What a piece of shit!

Rebekah

Well done! And so so disturbing.

I got chills 3 minutes into listening to this episode, I knew exactly what is was about. I asked in a Q&A a few years ago if you'd ever cover this case, at the time you said you had no plans to. I'm so grateful you guys did, it's one that needs more coverage.

Always appreciate the hard work. While a sad and important story I have to say I prefer the cases that have more mystery that needs to be unraveled.

What a terrible tragedy. Breaks my heart more so when kids are involved.

Megan Brennan

Women really do need to be able to say no without being murdered. 😢

Well, I have to say I think I have a strong stomach, but this case makes me feel ill for many reasons, even the case of Katherine Knight didn’t make me feel as sick as this episode. Violence against a women and rape and then children, F’ing sick, I can’t get this case out of my mind and I don’t like it. To think this animal has a good chance of being released makes my blood boil. The whole commonwealth judicial system needs an overhaul, Canada is no different. To put Karen’s sister Evalyn though torture every 3 years is inhuman. Last thing, the excuse of being on “Drugs” is laughable, what, he smoked to much weed and became homicidal... come on, really. Casey, is there a reason you didn’t speak of the 2017 or 2020 parole hearings, or is that because there is no information available? Seems like under Premier Mark McGowan’s Government, Attorney-General John Quigley signed a ministerial order in Dec 2018 banning serial killers from applying for parole for 6 year year cycles instead of 3. This mean Bill Mitchell will rot behind bars where he belongs until his last breath. Hopefully this change can ease a bit of pain for Evalyn by only having to relive the horror every 6 years instead of 3.

I felt the exact same I have a very strong stomach but this one really got to me. just no words. horrible.

Very dark and disturbing. Thanks Casey and team.

Extremely sad case. 3 kids and their mother slaughtered. He was the big man attacking them. They couldn't defend themselves. The young lad trying to get away only to be cut down by that monster. The same monster who sexually assulted the mother and her young daughter. Defenseless against this mad man. Hope he never gets out but I've a feeling if he does he ll always be looking over his shoulder and will never sleep soundly again.

In that better world that I pray we all see before we pass! It makes me so proud to have been a cop who solved some difficult murders!

For you Megan! Men, "respect her NO"! Just have enjoyable dates. Soon, MAYBE! Let her initiate the yes though. It will mean so much more to both of you! If she still says NO! Stay the friends you've become. She has friends she's talked about you with, who may say yes! Quality of one, over Quantity of many! Every time!
