Hello Patreon, it's time to record another Q&A. You can submit your questions in the comments below!

Scott Small

Hey guys, I’m new to Patreon and been listening to all the older content you have on here and I’m loving it. I’m just wondering what is your favourite live band performance? Mine was seeing Strung Out live in Manly way back in 2003

Quinton

Wondering if the murder of Oakey Kite is on your radar for future episodes?

Evan Stone

Has the influence of great podcast historians like Dan Carlin continued to motivate the research and presentation of the show, or was it an earlier influence in which the show has found its own method of research? I note this because Dan’s shows sometimes take months to generate 4.5 hours of content, but this may just take 1 month

Angela

Has there been any progress on the re-makes of the previous episodes such as Snowtown and Claremont Killings so far?

Dustin Manley

Do you feel the need to keep referring to the host as anonymous? Even though the majority of us, and anyone with Google..knows who he is

Dan Burrows

Hey Casey, do you have any favourite bands/artists from the UK?

p dids

Has there been a case that stands out being the hardest to write? Either because of the emotions attached to it or difficulty finding resources? How do you overcome any of these challenges when writing?

Addison Walker

How has running the podcast evolved as it’s grown from a side project? Do you miss working on a smaller podcast? (For Casey)

Pilky

I’m interested to know your thoughts on Ross Ulbricht. I didn’t know about The Silk Road until I listened to your podcast but have since been hooked on the case. I was wondering if you were in a position to give clemency to Ross, would you do so?

Helena Harvey

In American Horror Story: Hotel they have Halloween meal with murderers every year, they’re always the same but if you were in that position, who would you want to invite? And would you change it each year?

Ricky

Wow, these Qs are all over the place! Looking forward to what you choose to answer :)

Taryn-Lee Biggar

Hi team, can you remind us which was the first case that got you interested in starting the poddie? Can the team tell us who' wins in a team vote Jim Carrey or Steve Carell

Belinda Jane Quick

There are certain episodes which I (and others based on the social media commentary) found really challenging to listen to, often having to take breaks. For me, The Family was particularly this way. Are there any episodes like this for the Casefile crew, which really took it out of you to record and subsequently stuck with you?

Emily

I don't think it's true that the "majority" know, just because from what I can see on google someone doxxed him? And I think their reasons for anonymity still stand.

Cassandra Carter

Do you read crime books? Or have favourites? Non-finition, fiction, based on true story. Anything! Thank you!

MF79

Which cases, that you have covered, have left you feeling spooked?

Roy

Are there any major cases (2 or 3 part podcasts) that you would like to create, but are waiting for the outcome of current associated cases to be completed?

Anna Mills

hi from mississippi. i was wondering if you’ve ever heard of the chats? i love their music because of the extremely “aussie” accent and wanted to know if you have ever listened to them, and if so, what do you think? also, in your opinion, what are the best bands or musicians from australia?

Caroline O'Dea

Hi team, loving the questions. I would like to know your response to the criticisms of persons (such as our good selves) consuming true crime as entertainment. I’m a believer in the more that know the better on terms of crime prevention and in some cases finding solutions. However then there are the families as well as the communities given the far reaching nature of grief caused by crime. I’d love the teams opinions.

Caroline O'Dea

Sorry!! Sorry !!! I forgot to add the following WORDS to 2nd last sentence …however then there are the families TO CONSIDER, as well as the WIDER communities ….

Flem Candango

Have you ever heard of one of your more 'political' episodes contributing to changes in society, (large or small)? Your most recent show was particularly damning to certain powers that be and I admire your use of your platform to raise awareness of these miscarriages of justice.

Edie Khalili

How is our velvet-voiced host doing? All better, I hope!

Rebekah

Do you ever go to CrimeCon? If so will you be at the Vegas 2022 one?

Da Guru Bro

When not lockdown would you pick a French or Italian restaurant to take your better half too?

Sammy

After researching and talking about so many cases, I imagine it must hard to not think about elements of all of them from time to time. Have you ever been in a situation in real life where you've been doing something (maybe walking home, having a night out) and decided to not do something because it reminded you of a case? There's a short cut to my house that I don't take anymore purely from just listening to cases where something has happened to other people walking home. Keep up the great work everyone! :)

Rosie

Which is the most disturbing case in your opinion that you’ve covered? Like have any of the cases you’ve covered ever really messed with your head? Or haunted you? There’s just so many heavy and upsetting cases you’ve covered I’m just wondering if it ever effects you? P.s I love this podcast! Thank you to you and your team for creating it x

James Ghrist

I'm stuck on the "Crystal Rogers/Bardstown Ky." Case! 3 missing/2 murdered! Screams for Justice!

Stefan Bradley

Hi Team, when I saw “The Family” pop up on Patreon, I wrongly presumed it was the case of the Australian cult The Family, led by Anne Hamilton-Byrne. Have you considered covering that story or any other cults?

Alexander

Perth serial killer Eric Edgar Cooke, aka The Nedlands Monster, would be a perfect fit for a multi-part series. Remember reading a book on him for school years and years ago. His crime spree lasted from the late '50s to the early '60s, committing tens of sexual assaults and numerous murders. His life story would make for a wild story fit for casefile.

Telma M

Agree with Emily, I don’t think it’s true that the majority knows. Out of respect for the Host’s wishes, and also because I enjoy the little mystery, I have very deliberately not looked up his identity. If one day he wishes to tell us then that’s his choice. And I think that especially as Patrons we have a responsibility to respect his choice.

Telma M

Right now Australia has banned all its citizens from exiting & entering the country unless for very specific exemptions (thanks in part to our idiot government & their spectacular mismanagement of vaccine supply). So I doubt it :/ if they’re even allowed to leave they might not be allowed back in again.

Dustin Manley

I'm sorry but the minute you enter the limelight and are profiting from it, that leads to certain expectations. However if you 2 wish to not know, that is your option but I for one won't listen to someone blindly and support them without knowing there identity. He could be a woman beater or a Hitler lover. I pay for this same as you, and am entitled to my question, same as anyone

Rebekah

Hopefully by April it will be different!

Ethan Whish

Has anyone ever recognised you as the anonymous host from your voice in your day to day life Casey?

Telma M

Bye then!

Cathy

I realised that in the newer episodes, you guys don’t detail the context of the landscape/town/country as much anymore as in older episodes. Is that done on purpose? Just asking because I always enjoyed learning about other places in the beginning of each episode

brooke

what was your hardest/most stressful case to research?

Anna Mills

do you have a celebrity crush? if so, who?

Joanne Paventa

I don't know who he is! Guess I better Google.

Austin Peppers

Are there plans for more multi-part series cases or are those more reserved for Casefile Presents now? Silk Road remains one of my favorites to this day.

Casefile

Hi Anna, sorry I missed this one before recording. But no, no celebrity crushes.

Casefile

Hi Austin, sorry I missed this one before recording. Yes, there will be a two parter out in the near future. And another multi parter is being worked on for next year.

Austin Peppers

Thanks Casey! Looking forward to it!

Juanita Venema

Please cover the broken arrow killings. Two teens in 2015 killed their entire family . Nobody and I mean NOBODY has covered it when there’s so much info on it
