A very happy 2022 to you all. It is time to record another Q&A. If you have any questions for Casey or anyone else on the Casefile team, put them in the comments and we will record our answers for you. They don't have to be Casefile related!

To the Casefile team: Any true crime book recommendations? Currently reading' The cases that haunt us' by John Douglas and Mark Olshaker and so far, up to the Charles Lindbergh Jr case which is really intriguing.

Mike Penhall

Have you guys ever thought about doing a multi-parter on the Monster of Florence case? One of my favourite unsolved cases, so many twists and turns and so scary to think he is still out there. Keep up the great work!

Sharon Brown

Hello Casefile team I would like to know how to listen to the Patreon episodes? I’m not sure where to go

Neil A.

Casey was there a moment (eg. number of downloads) when you knew you had a hit show? Anqd how long did it take for you to quit your old job and go full time with the podcast? Imagine your old boss would have been confused, going full time on a podcast!

Eileen

How do you decide when to say the word 'quote' before you say a direct quote? Sometimes you say it, and sometimes you don't, and I've always wondered why!

Michael Wood

Hi case file , I would love to know if you guys are going to re edit and re release the snow town episode , I find that case so interesting and would love to hear it again, thanks

p dids

Does Casey still write any of the episodes like he did in the early days?

Corryn Barnes

Happy new year Casefile team! I was wondering how the New Years resolutions are going? I didn’t make any this year, but did any of you? Also, could you tell me about a time you made a resolution you were able to see through? I need some inspiration/encouragement for next year. Thanks so much! Can’t wait for the new episodes in 2022. You guys all do such amazing work, and I hope you all feel the appreciation from the fans for all you do. ❤️

Leah Budd

Happy New Year Casefile! Tell me again your return date? Because I am just barely hanging on 😂, relistening to past episodes. NO ONE does it better than Casefile, hope to hear from you all soon! Thanks for being so amazing!!

Cassandra Bae

Happy New Year! Are there cases that stay with you. I guess maybe have scared you?

Sarah

Have you thought about re releasing the family court murders? I know you said you pulled it because of “major developments” I would love to listen to this

Lyman Green

Hey guys and gals! If you’ve heard this question feel free to ignore but I’m curious in the general sense: does Casefile provide enough income to allow you not to have another job? This is for all staff willing to discuss it. I’m obviously not asking how much you make but just: is it essentially a full time income?

Andi

Happy 2022 Casefile team! Is there any upcoming or possible “Casefile Presents” content in the works?! I really enjoyed Pseudocide and the deep dive with Vicki on the Philip Island Case. Also have you guys ever considered any type of merch for the show? Thank you!

Demi V

Hi guys, Does the team have any interest in covering white collar crimes or any other more obscure crime types in the future? The Batavia was one if my favorite episodes but mutiny and mayhem are obviously hard cases to come by. Also, are there any podcasts you listen to in your free time or does it feel like doing research/work when you listen to them?

Connor Z

Are any of you into video games? If so, what are your favorites?

Federica Carr

hi team ! LOVE the podcast... Really enjoyed listening to the episode on Yara Gambirasio (Netflix just produced a movie on the story). I wonder if you would cover more Italian stories and in case, if you'd take any suggestions (I am italian). Thank you for your work!!

Federica Carr

Yes to merch!!! I'd love a teeshirt or a sweater to proudly wear :)

Fran L

Hello Casefile team! I've noticed there are Aussie podcasts include an acknowledgement of country - would this be something you would consider including for the podcast? Thanks so much for your work - I've been following and supporting right from the start :)

Stefan Bradley

I asked about the bowraville murders in your q and a years ago and you said you probably wouldn’t do it as The Australian podcast has been done. What changed your mind? And last year was probably the best year ever of Casefile - better narration, mostly unknown cases (to me anyway) and superb writing. Are you guys gonna do anything different or special this year? I noticed last year the music was (seemingly) different too which was a nice change

Robyn Stephens

Any thoughts on covering big cases? I know you all could put a great story together. Chris Watts, Gaby Petito, etc.

zoe

Hi team, happy new year! If travel becomes a thing again, would Casey or any members of the team consider travelling to CrimeCon UK this year?

Penny Power

Is there any chance you might re-record the earlier episodes? Your tone of voice, pace and sound quality are on point now. Would be great to hear the earlier ones sound the same.

Ashley Barker

Happy New Year Year Casefile team! How are you all recharging during your break?

Saraneth

It seems like I’m the last year especially casefile has had consistent patreon perks on offer between Patreon picks episodes, the Behind the files and the Q&A (in addition to early ad free episodes). When I compare engagement in Patreon with other shows I support I’m often surprised that casefile doesn’t have more patrons by comparison. Is this something the team has talked about at all? Maybe the website could be updated to reflect specifically what bonus content is offered? Also, Alan Alda offers to record a personal voicemail message for his highest tier patrons. It would be wicked funny to have a voicemail message from the anonymous host. I’m mostly joking….

Da Guru Bro

Have you considered doing a month long topic on cases? If so can you do a month long topic on technology and crypto currency as the first one? As there as so many technology related crimes that occur but very never mentioned in the mainstream.

Casefile

Hi Sharon. The best was is to add your exclusive Casefile Patreon RSS feed to your favourite podcast player (although not all are supported). Here is an article explaining how to do that. https://support.patreon.com/hc/en-us/articles/212055866-Subscribe-to-your-Audio-RSS-link-on-the-Patreon-app Send us a direct message if you have any issues with that. Will be happy too help out. You can also listen within Patreon, by going to 'Posts' and then you should see a heading called 'Bonus Episode'. All the bonus content can be found there. Thank you.

Tarsh Rodda

I think I have the right case - Theresa Knorr. An awful nasty woman. Early on in the podcast we hear of how abused she was by partner/s. Do you know or have any thoughts on if this was true or another lie by her. Just wondering, as at the start of the story I felt sorry for her until more truth became evident.

Tarsh Rodda

I realise I missed my chance with the Q&A for this episode - sorry. 🤦‍♀️

Kate Armstrong

Hi team! I’ve got 3 questions 1. For Casey - has anyone IRL recognised or seemed to recognise your voice from the podcast? 2. For writers/producers/researchers - generally what was your background before you started working for casefile? Was it related (research/journalism/similar) or was this sort of thing just a passion? 3. Are you planning to re-record/take down the Frankston Serial Killer episodes? I know she now identifies as Paula and her dead name is used in the episode - and a recent Behind the Files episode.

Caroline O'Dea

Hi Everyone- just wondering what are some of the team’s other favorite true crime (or other genre) podcasts? Would love to hear your recommendations. Thank you.

Quinton

I'm late.. but do you have anything big planned for episode 200? 2 parter, high profile case, etc?
