I have to tell you a story that happened at my prerelease because I am just so fucking proud of my MTG community. and you had a part of it weather you like it or not(no way it's not). My lgs had a 50 man prerelease in a small(80k) Midwest town. A father brought his son, of who I can only guess is 10-12(smart kid though his vocabulary was amazing). His dad asked him to remember the video we watched by the professor? "Sort your cards into colors then into uncommons and above." His dad gave input but very minimal and only when asked. He drew a bunch of games and by the end of the night half the people had already dropped, but that made the child's standing better. I took 4th going 4-1, but the kid took 12th got 2 packs and a foil promo pack, when they announced his standing and prize the entire store erupted into chant and clapped and cheered him on. He was so fucking excited and I was so proud of the magic community, even the people I don't particularly like cheered him on. It just reminded me of how amazing the community is. Which is something you say every day! Thank you professor, you are also apart of this amazing experience even though you weren't there! Edit: also thank you Jesse Robkin for writing for the professor's dialogue you def deserve a shoutout too!
