Hey folks! I only just realized that after announcing my writing break on Wednesday on both my discord and on Royal Road, I forgot to do so here. Very sorry about that!

I've recently gotten on Bluesky for the entire purpose of posting updates in one consistent place, and true to form I keep forgetting to do that, too. It takes me a while to integrate something new into my routine. But going forward, after this, check me out at webbonomicon.bsky.social for those.

Anyhow, I am posting here to notify y'all I'm extending my writing break to a week, so I plan to be back to work on Wednesday. A week is what I used to take back when I was in the habit of doing them consistently, and I'm remembering now why that was. I got hit with a bad depressive episode over the weekend, and while I seem to be already coming back up out of that one, I'm still in a kind of ragged state mentally and my efforts to write today have been ineffectual. I'm going to give my brain a bit more time to recuperate and then try again.

I appreciate you all. Back soon with more stories!

Makes sense; thanks for the update!

A week is no problem at all and do take yourself a break if you need it but AAAAAH. A break as soon as i resubscribed instead of buying the chapters one at a time as they came out because you were posting so often lol.

Absolutely! Do what you need to keep on track. I won't lie though I saw the D.D. Webb email and I got excited for another installment of Hoard, and then see it's a break notice. Oh well. Just means the NEXT email should be better news. By the by, when you said that you had written yourself in to a story corner, and were not pleased with the state of the story I thought all the chapters were pretty effective. However, the last few have a definite uptick in quality and direction. Which just proves you are correct that writing through the burnout hurts you and the writing, and your current rest break is a good plan to keep up quality!
