Previous poll had decided that Lexi would be trading her Ethnicity with a viewer of the stream. I have three options to chose from for this poll. I have included samples below. There are more details discussed below.

Lexi has already had a number of adjustments from other trades and treatments. Those will not be reset due to this one. One aspect of that is her hair. It will remain red, but I'm going to adjust the shading to flatter a new skin tone and not clash as bad. But she will retain her larger nose and tooth gap as well.

Above as the above samples. There will likely be adjustments and things will shift over time. Much like Steph has adjusted over time of drawing her.

I know these are all very large regions of the world that contain a wide variety of facial features and skin tones. This is just what one person could look like. Trying to not lean into any stereotypes. I did a bunch of sketches based on a bunch of people in each option that could work for Lexi. Then with some Decider help, narrowed it down for this poll.

Please let me know of any questions below.

Yes! Hopefully desi will win out.

Hoping for Desi so we can Scottish Yazmin Khan!!

Ugh. Missed the last poll's conclusion. Not happy about this at all. Like almost makes me want to stop reading. We didn't need another race change.

roseleaf

I know its not everyone's thing.

Mr. Domino

It's just a waste. We already had a race change, we could have done something different and seen something different. This really doesn't change anything about her as a character other than now she's a different ethnicity. Unless whatever Lexi becomes experiences some kind of severe adversity because of the race change (like a horrible mom trying to make her into a foreign maid), then there's nothing really special about this other than people just laughing at the fact that she's just a messy amalgam.

Depending on which wins there are some interesting dynamics that could happen between Steph and Lexi. But for all the trades, I attempt to show how this effects them. If it does. It will work into Lexi's story one way or another. It will help us learn more about Lexi as she gets more and more focus. Working to not repeat the same beats as Steph's story. Lexi is on her own road as we shall see next week. (this trade won't kick in until next month-ish)

Yaz is a fun character. I missed flux, but saw a clip the other day that only solidified the Doctor/Yaz pairing even more.

roseleaf

She'll absolutely been keeping the Scots accent.

Mr. Domino

Thing is, it seems like it just gets harder and harder for you to tell a compelling story, because the voters always seem to vote for the stereotypical aspects of the TG genre. How many out of the voters out there still just want Lexi and Steph to get together as girlfriends because 'its hot' without any care for the story? How many wanted 'bimbo' to be 'LIKE, L O L, I'm totes super horny you guys oh my gawd! Um, can you, like, find some hunky guy for me to fuck, like, pretty please?' and how many were disappointed you decided to go with the 'flighty' version of it instead?

roseleaf

I think there is some fun with it, and I think it makes sense that Lexi is getting the more stereotypically "girly" and TG audience fav traits. (sorry, hit enter too soon...editing....) Stephanie get people dumping traits on her they didn't want. She was the first and people in the world saw it as a great opportunity to free themselves of things that bothered them. Steph is now trying to naviagate the effects of those things. More time as passed, attention faded a bit, and isn't as new. Since Steph is letting the internet decide Lexi's trades, the internet is intentionally scuplting her and messing with her. Lexi is getting more of having this fantasy and as she is getting it, it may not be turning out exactly as she thought. Some stuff she really likes. But other things are not going exactly the way she expected. She's going to need to deal with that more and more. Even with things she already has.

Scottish is a British accent. UK accent + Africa or UK + South Asia are both common combinations and represent real communities of people due to the impacts of colonialism & real world history. UK + Latino is different than the other two because it’s actually an ahistorical label and is necessarily the product of contemporary immigration/marriage or in-universe nanite trading because of the label and historical circumstances. This is because “Latino” doesn’t just imply new world indigenous descent, but also colonization by Spain or Portugal particularly. Indigenous populations in *English speaking* North America are referred to as “Native American” “American Indian” or “First Nations” in Canada. Because “Latino” is a reference to iberian peninsular romance languages for some reason. I think about history too much to think race changes are fun I guess.

roseleaf

Yeah scottish accent and South Asian work together more naturally. Not the first thing I think of. But with the number of Brittish citizens of Indians decent, it would make sense some would have settled in Scotland. A woman from Central or south America ending up with that accent, no idea how that would happen. Would people just assume she's trying copy Catherine Zeta Jones?

Natalia

Catherine Zeta Jones is literally just a Welsh woman though

When it comes right down to it, its just a change of skin color and some relatively slight face/body adjustments. It's possible that Rose could just push the trade into the background and not draw attention to it I'm personally pulling for Desi, because it makes the most sense regarding her accent.

taifea

As Scot, I can confirm that many South Asian Scots have a far more prominent Scottish accent than myself.
