Another sketch dump as I continue to test out different tools.

This time around I wanted to do different styles on the same sketch. With our standard-ish format/colors; pencils; black & white; and the final two are using different limited palettes.

If there anything you want to see, put your sketch requests below.

I know hands are tough to draw, but is there anything you can do so your characters don’t look like they’re wearing welding gloves. I hope this doesn’t come across as a criticism because it is not meant to be. It’s a small thing because your artwork is generally very pleasing. Your characters have definite personalities that come through in the artwork, as well as the stories.

Mostly, time & practice. At some point there may be a post is nothing but a hand study practice. I think there has been improvement, but still a long way to go. Especially with the women. Fingernails has been showing up more and more. Working on keeping them more slender. But there are also a couple weird balance "anatomical" things I'm working on rectifying. Since the characters are not anatomically correct, and look "wrong" when they are more anatomically correct.

Thank you. I have noticed steady improvements in your artwork over the years, and as I said, it’s very pleasing. Please keep up the good work.

Thanks. And that is absolutely the point of stuff like today's post. I have some time to breath. Taking that time to try to do some practice and try different things to improve. I do get frustrated when I feel my improvement gets stagnant.

All the odds. 1, 3 & 5 look better to me.

Thanks. The pure b/w one was fun.

I like the Skin tone of one, shading of two, the high lights of three, the skirt of four, and the Blouse of five.

Highlights are pretty fun in pure b/w

Sturkwurk did a beautiful rendition of Stephanie at the end of “Need a Lawyer”. Based on your concept of Steph, of course. I assume you worked closely with Sturkwurk to perfect our favorite Roseleaf character? Beautifully done in any case. Excellent collaboration! I hope to see more.

Yeah, Sturk did a great job with her. We did a lot of chat about what she looks like in 3D, and I went out and found reference photos of models that I thought shared features with her. That way Sturk has a good starting point, and knows what my mental image is.
