Open Trade - 252 - Commentary (Patreon)

So right when I'm finishing the page, I don't really have a lot to say about it. My brain is just focused on getting it up. But I've have a lot of time before and after to reflect on what is going on in the page.

One of the things I wanted to mention, since it is directly brought up on this page, is that I do not actually think this is a good business plan for the company.

I absolutely see companies doing this. Escpecially companies with international sales teams or trying to land internation clients. Helping you bond and get closer to the people in those companies.

But from a marketing level for a public facing artist, I think doing a trade like this would be a massive detriment.

There is an appeal to entering a world you don't understand that endears people to you. People like to share things about their culture with people from outside of it. There are tons of vidoes out there of celebs trying the local food of where ever they are.

It makes a great connection on a large scale.

Conversely, it makes a ton of sense to me that a risk averse company would absolutely do this trade.

It wouldn't be just Stephanie. There would be anywhere between 1 and 15 people doing these trades going on at any point in time. Just keeping an eye on when someone is doing a long term visit, or moves to the country. Then reaching out to them.
