There was no warning.

No warning besides the forward of the book.

No warning beyond the forward of the book and the back cover.

Maybe the cover had a hint, as well as the inside jacket, and the spine.

Ok, there were a lot of warnings clearly stating “This book is to be only ised by a witch.”

But that did not stop Matt from opening the book and attempting the forbidden magic inside.

Matt knew he wasn't a witch. Matt didn't even think magic was real. He wanted it to be real. Hoping that he would eventually stumble Upon something that was real actual magic.

Flipping the pages for anything that looked like a spell, he flinched as the edge of the page sliced into his fingertip. Shallow, but enough to draw blood.

He put his index finger in his mouth to slow the bleeding. After taking a look to see if the bleeding stopped there was a new concern. His finger was green. A verdant shade of emerald. Worse, it was quickly spreading. In seconds his hand and forearm were recolored. Within minutes his entire form had green pigmentation from his hair to his toe nails.

But Matt had little time to react to that or to process that his desire to discover magic had finally come. More was changing as he could feel his body shift. Muscle and fat redistributed forming more of a curvy figure. Bones popped as he seemed to lose height and gain a smaller frame.

He was so focused at the overwhelming sensation of his manhood being repurposed into a vaginal slit that he didnt even notice his clothing being reshaped concurrently.

He stood stunned to himself….herself now with the body and appearance of a basic halloween witch. Her voice even had a high harsh vocal fry as she spoke.

The first item he found that contained magic didn't prevent non-witches from using it. It made them into stereotypical witches.  The spell, or rather curse, was absolutely wicked.
