When writing there is always going to be a bit of a divide between what a writer intends and how the audience perceives it. Most of the time I like to think you and I are pretty much in sync. Occasionally there may be a phrase or a line where I misspeak overlooking something, and I just go back and edit it to bring it back in with what I intended.

This happens most frequently with Femur edits. Typically it’s when I’m aiming for a very specific message and I’ll get an edit going the other way, my challenge is to come back and drive the dialog to go in the direction I wanted. Honestly these rare moments are always the more fun edits to make, because they are more challenging and creative.

I’be had really good luck with changing people’s perception on characters. Like Lexi going from the most hated character to a well liked one. But when it came to the current arc, there was no way that I could convince the audience that the record label wasn’t evil.

Originally, my plan was that this was an error that the corporation had no control over and really the blame is in the hands of the person she traded with, the K-Pop star would be a very minor character we see shortly near the end of Steph’s time in Korea. I kind of underestimated how much people are invested in Stephanie and how protective they are. I tried a couple times to steer blame away from the studio, and I realized I can’t shift that focus away, and more and more people wondering about the K-Pop star.

So to fix that I’m leaning into fleshing out our K-Pop star to see what she is up to. Could I fix this by making the multi-billion dollar corporation more evil? Yeah, I guess. I’m not pro-corporation. Just didn’t feel like making them the bad guy in this story.

This may be the biggest choice I've made based on your reaction (not counting polls). I know I’ve done small ones here and there elsewhere, but nothing big enough to stick out in my memory.

There is another item people are still picking at that I wasn’t actually planning to visit. We shall see. Discussing that one may have to go into a commentary post about Abandoned Plot Threads.

Are there things I’ve ignored that you are dying to still see happen?

I think something that was mentioned was that Steph has access to a list of trades she didn't use but could see what they were. I'd be curious what they are. Also Isabella, I'm hoping she makes another appearance and does something major because I feel she hasn't been utilized compared to the early issues. Also it's been awhile with Steph's dad and her sisters so I'd love to see them appear especially the former. But also Steph leaving her previous job, not the streaming one, I did wonder if she actually left it?

There may be some confusion over the list. I know readers have asked me for a list of Steph's trades. Especially since some of them aren't very obvious. I guess in-world there would be known list of what would are able and allowed to trade. But even that would be in flux. Isabella will be back. There just hasn't been much to do as our girls got closer to other characters, and has been confiding in them. There are plans for Steph's family. We'll see them sooner than later. Steph is no longer employed my her old job. If she left or she got fired may be in the eye of the beholder.

There is one more thing and I feel it might be a bit controversial but with Lexi, I feel like some of her comments in the past before she even started trading should be addressed. It feels like Lexi's a whole new person but that panel where she said everyone assumes she's a jerk is something I feel should be addressed and hopefully Lexi might apologize or not to Steph to how she was before. Doubly that car conversation with Steph and Lexi in page 15 of issue 5, I feel like that question should be revisited. But also the question of Lexi's attraction the Steph is a mystery I've always wondered given how before she started trading, it seemed like she was a pervert but after that conversation, it implied there was something more to it than what it was initially. Also the question if Steph and Lexi are the same people is another spot to revisit.

While alot of people warmed up to Lexi once she started trading, she has not arrived at her redemption yet. There are a couple different options on the table for her to travel to accomplish that. But we can't end with out resolving more of Steph and Lexi's relationship.
