Time to learn a little more about Stephanie's mental state. What does she want? Also why is Victory here?

She hasn’t had enough time, it’s been two weeks in universe! She needs at least a month or two to even fully wrap her head around her new gender, ethnicity, her new body, sexuality…. It’s a massive change.

It does raise an interesting question. Given the trades both physical and mental, one has to wonder how much of Stephanie was in Wyatt to start with and how much of Wyatt is in Stephanie. The Xander/Lexi situation is slightly different as they fully committed to this from the “get go” (after being a jerk for quite a while). So in essence, there are two different individuals tackling similar situations with entirely different mindsets. It would be really fascinating to see Lexi go out on a date and see their reaction to it. Sometimes wanting is better than having, and sometimes the grass is truly greener on the other side of the fence.

I mean I don’t want to underplay how massive this is, she was literally a white guy two weeks ago. Imagine one of Steph’s sisters becoming a black man, for comparison, it’s a big change, and one that’ll take some exploring.

I tend to go with the base idea that she is still the same basic person she was, but with the mental additions are more like new facts or new compultions. They could influence her to think differently in the long run, like anyone exposed to new things. But most of her wants and desires are still the same.

Just from some of her experiences interacting with others, or with family, her being asian has had a massive difference in the way she is treated. Will definitely have more and more of an impact on how she acts and tries things.

I'm loving this conversation about what's unfolding. This is the true strength of a webcomic. Not just to disseminate a person's art but to truly engage in the conversation it invokes.

Seeing people change and grow is my favorite part of longform TGTF. I've seen irl buff manly dudes become extremely feminine women and the reverse so it'd be so fun to see how much she's changed in a few years :)

It's definitely unfolding a lot of character development avenues for Stephanie and given the amount of time from this page to and the first one, it's quite a lot Stephanie had to adjust to since the first page. But now she has the chance to get some agency over how long and what trades she'll keep long term. Plus, I like how there's some insight here about how she felt growing up and it's revealing a hidden egg buried in her for so long. I'd say it's like more like a hero's (or heroine's) journey kind of turning point kind of moment here.

Given time jumps, it add a lot of how she'll feel about her trades as she has to now deal with them for a long time.
