I shall hold out hope we see more Tan Tan in the future, and that we don't end up being too nice to her. I didn't expect her to be my favorite girl of the bunch, but she kinda is? So I'm definitely rooting for seeing her more and for it to be with some distress on her part, the tension with her was quite compelling for me! I quite enjoyed this chapter~

She'll absolutely show up more. Maybe a mixture of trying to be buddy buddy with the Puppeteer and also equally terrified of accidentally pushing too far.

May she sometimes step on a metaphorical land mine and end up spending some time as a Puppet again! Or not. Whatever you decide to do with the story and what folks vote on. I just know what I'm rooting for! The tension of this almost sorta friendly familiarity and deeply imbalanced power relationship with a constant undercurrent of threat is great, and I kinda adore how much if contrasts with all the totally loyal dolls. Same way, in the recent chapter, their devotion but also fear at his anger and willingness to sacrifice them when he makes that clear, is very fun. Basically this is my favorite series because it is sometimes leveraging its narrative and the characterization of the Puppeteer for fun dramatic tension, and Tan Tan is really potent intersection of that.

As I like to put it. The Puppeteer, despite often looking like and acting like a monster, is a person. So there's a whole lot of facets about him that, given the way I end up making these, the character themself eventually lets me see. Tan-Tan being a good way for me to ideally have the hidden bits of the deeper personality shine.
