Named Protagonists!

  • Having a name is pretty cool, and makes the dialogue feel more authentic. Even if it's likely not my real name. 21
  • I don't like having a preset name, it makes it difficult to get immersed unless it's my real name. 21
  • Either/or is perfectly fine 37

I'm working on another script similar(ish) to "I Guess We're Misfits". In that script, the listener had a name (Avery) that Felix referred to the entire time. What are you thoughts on listeners having names to be referred to in an audio?

Fluffy

I would like to have a name :3

Dae

A nice in between would be a consistent pet name ie dear, baby, mouse, whatever fits but it still makes the dialogue feel natural

I don’t particularly mind either way. On one hand, yes, having the listener be “nameless” can help with immersion, but personally, on the other hand, having the character named almost makes it like playing a role while listening, like slipping into the character! Might be my inner theater kid but eh *shrug*

I dont rlly like actual names because it makes the audio feel closer to a show typa thing than an actual 'x listener' petnames are cute tho

ESH The Mess

I have so many names at this point that someone could call me almost any random name and I would just assume that that's what I told them my name was

AJ

I have seen people do like nicknames or pet names for the listener, that could work.
