My my, it's August 1st, and as we move into peak month of summer, it's getting hot! What better way to celebrate that than to post a busty girl who is coping with the summer heat in her own unique way?

Here's Tailtiu from Fire Emblem 4, an obscure but well-designed character, dealing with the stresses of summer heat in her Calvin Kleins! This isn't the first time she's been posted to the Archives; her nude version actually came long before this. But I know a lot of people have a certain fondness for underwear, particularly a nice set of Calvins -- and as a bonus, you also get the topless version here with just panties!

ARTIST COMMENTARY

This piece, like most of my work, was a commission, and I actually tried something unique here that I haven't done with any other pieces since. I was reading Color and Light by James Gurney, an incredibly accomplished painter. He recommended the idea of a "gamut map," where you take a little slice out of the color wheel, and you have to create all your colors from that little selection. It results in interesting pieces where you have to use color more creatively than usual.

It's a technique better suited for physical painting, since you have access to an infinite set of values when you're working digitally. But I sliced out a little section of the color wheel and confined myself to mostly pastel values. I think it turned out really nice! I still like the bubblegum feel that this piece evokes.

Other than that, I think it's a nice piece overall. I'm a little mixed on her face now, though I don't dislike it. And I appreciate how squishy she looks. It's more titillating than a lot of my other work, but to good effect, I hope ;)

In seriousness, while I'm biased as hell, I think this is one of your best works. The lighting is really nice, and the hair blowing from the fan, and the soft skin and lips. I think it's great!

i love to hear this about older pieces! it's so easy to be super critical about older art when you're the artist
