In a remote village that doesn’t even appear on the Empire’s maps, the locals display intense and outright hostility toward sorceresses. After Yennefer is captured by the villagers and dragged into a sinister “court of judgment” reeking of malevolence, she realizes the truth: the villagers are actually under the control of a demon, and this so-called “trial” is nothing more than a ritual site for sacrificing offerings to that demon.
