To avoid causing a time paradox, she cast an invisibility spell on herself before entering the grounds to explore. She soon realized, however, that the time magic had not fully succeeded. This was not merely twenty years ago—it was a parallel universe entirely unlike the one she knew. The students and teachers here bore familiar names, but looked nothing like the people in her memory. The Potions professor of this new universe took her for a criminal who had infiltrated the school, drew a twelve-inch wand, and cast a protein-muscle spell to arrest her.
