Hey guys!! Thanks to anyone who made it to the live the other night! Here's what we came up with!

I really am intending on uping my watch-game this month so let's see what we can get through!

Empire Records

The Green Mile (commentary/rewatch for me)

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

This is Spinal Tap (will I understand this one?!)

A Few Good Men

Dogma

Idiocracy

Apollo13

High Fidelity

Romancing the Stone

Valley Girl

There were many more, but these were the top for interest

NIce! There's several here I'm definitely looking forward to seeing.

Kevin Charley

I think you would understand Spinal Tap. I don't see why you wouldn't. I don't think there's a bad movie on this list.

daniel j brooks

a lot of my favorites on here. can't wait!!!

Jacob Colson

Please do Punch Drunk Love! I know you said it's on the list, but I.....I just can't wait for it!

Bill W

Empire Records, Spinal Tap, High Fidelity, Valley Girl.... I'm totally there for music-themed movies. The rest are solid choices as well. A Few Good Men and Apollo 13 are masterpieces. During the mid 80s through the mid 90s, three of the biggest directors were Mike the Meathead, Opie and Laverne!!

Rick Passmore

All great picks, but definitely do High Fidelity. One of my all-time favorite screenplays.

Jason McNeil

With Spinal Tap, makes me wonder what you have heard about it to make you ask that question.

Jorge Farah

Hey Shanelle. New Patron here. Big fan of your brand of commentary, how you identify tropes and filmmaking techniques. Always come away with good insights. Excited to see your upcoming movie slate. One word about Dogma: I'm stoked you're watching it, it's to me KS's best film, a bit of a departure for him (and probably the last time he stretched himself as a filmmaker). Unlike his other movies, Dogma isn't owned by Miramax, but personally by the Weinsteins. I don't think copyright claims are enforced that strongly on it given that it's not even streamable anywhere and there are various existing videos reacting to it. Hope you enjoy it. Stoked for Romancing the Stone and Spinal Tap too.

Jorge Farah

You'll be fine. It's satire yes but very broad. The humor translates pretty universally.

Jason McNeil

That makes sense. I was thinking it might of been like a Memonto situation where you heard it was "trippy" making it something you might not want to watch for your channel.

Travis Nickerson

Idiocracy is a great watch. The movie is so absurd that it works. It does not take itself too serious

Paul Cox

"This is Spinal Tap (will I understand this one?!) " It's like if Almost Famous had been shot like The Office and the band was 1000x stupider.

Joe Blankenship

Looks like I picked the right time to join Patreon. Shanelle! You're gonna love Spinal Tap. It and High Fidelity are two of my all-time favorites. And Green Mile seems to be inescapable for Youtube reactors. Everybody wants to see you cry, I guess.

Mac

I've watched for a while and wanted to support your channel. My family owned a video store growing up, and it started my love of movies. I love your commentary on filmmaking and your recaps of the movies. I love to read screenplays, and that combined with your videos is a great combination! I think you would love Before Sunrise, with Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy.

Echo

Good list! I've seen all but Valley Girl and Romancing the Stone and I'm super jazzed about Idioacracy, Spinal Tap, and Dogma.

Mike Miner

I really love it when reactors don't do just "the usual". There are so many great movies out there that nobody is reacting to and this is one of them.

Mike Minerals

Is it a coincidence that Spinal Tap and A Few Good Men are both Rob Reiner films? They also bookmark the best of his work. I don't know of any other director that had such a string of home runs than Reiner from the early 80s to early 90s.

Travis Nickerson

There are two movies that you need to put on your list to watch. One is Take Me Home Tonight (2011) with Topher Grace, Anna Faris, and Dan Fogler set in the '80s. Takes place in one night. The other is Fanboys (2009) with Dan Fogler and Kristen Bell. A road trip movie set in late 90's.
